IRC (again) on #deadmen

-We have a dMw-bot that can do many different things including google search, translator and many more.
-We have a statistic page for the channel (Coming soonish)
-Quote page is underway

Just an idea.  How about joining TS instead and using the chat facilities?  It does the same thing and also focuses people on one server rather than being split across two? It also means you show up on the home page widget so people know you are online.  We could set up a 'IRC - text chat only' channel if needed?

I use IRC as I'm in more than 1 channel and have been using it for as long as I have been using the internet so thats not going to change to use TS text chat.

I join TS when I'm playing a game so that people know I am playing a game, and I enjoy being able to use it to communicate during games. And there is always steam friends list if anyone wants to see who is online to ask to play games.

The only problem I can see is that from having the IRC channel its users don't frequent the forums as much as they would without it.

I will use IRC, regardless, so I favour status quo. Not just because of that, but with the technical fun incorporated, such as random quotes from users, google search, funny topics, stupid user names etc. I like it there.

Also, there is currently no moderation and the language is completely free, which so far works and is awesome. I sure hope dMw IRC stays. IMO as with the games discussion so many times - it makes sense moving to TS, but it will kill a very funny element, which is very dMw. It is a bit like dMw in the fun old days, at least as far back as I know. It is rough on the edges, way to dirty for the public and like a dirty little secret in dMw. If you move, you'd kill it, and after a while, no one would idle on TS and we will loose that as well...

I know, bumping an old post but I was just checking out our old mIRC channel and there's still some people on there:

-Peanuts
And some I don't know: Ham and Pesteh...

The guys I know have all been slapped with a large trout.
