I 'pause' GPU folding when playing in game.  As for CPU or SMP folding, I think it's down to the PC and how powerful it is.  Mine copes ok with SMP folding and gaming.

i turn my gpu folding off when racing, i still get 90 fps but i can notice the difference:D

In LFS I just let it run. At low priority tho

I turn it off for all games I play, just in case. Had one time a fold turning in while playing CSS which screwed my graphics.

Just dusted off an old 3850HD AGP system and set it folding, will take a while to catch easyed tho :worship:

I dont use the PS3 for folding as the fan sounds like a hairdryer when its folding.

As for your PS3 - I feel your pain :sad:

The link below suggests several solutions for the turbo sound  ...... but the best seems to be to return it to Sony (if it's still under warranty).  Apparently some of them were made in China with defective fans.......

I'm easing off the Folding a bit. Although I'll still be contributing units, it won't be at such a high workrate as previous months. I've been hammering the PC's a while and they want a break.

I am hardly at home, but do run the GPU-client whenever the PC is on. I am doing 100-300 ppd.

Just started folding on my work laptop - a crap 2.1GHz dual core Pentium (T4300) FWIW.

Edit: Skip that. Bad corporate firewall + Win7 problems (SMP not working) makes that something I have to look into some other day... sheesh!

Edit2: Now folding and reporting, but it can't make the deadlines, even with small WUs :|
