This community prides itself on it's attitude to others, irrespective of experience or skills. There's been a few incidents recently on the server that would indicate an intolerance and selfish attitude to your colleagues. Whilst amongst ourselves it may not make a real difference, it makes it uncomfortable for newer players. It’s very easy to assume others are as experienced as yourselves and therefore very easy to be intolerant. Basically think twice before you comment.

Or as I wrote in the first draft of this â€" Pack it in.

The game, as with all of our supported games is easy to pick up, but also easy to ruin for less experienced players. It shouldn’t be that hard for anyone to understand the basics;

1. If you are pinned, call for help. If help doesn't come immediately then assume your colleagues are busy getting swamped elsewhere. They are not ignoring you because they want to watch you suffer.

2. If your colleagues call for help, go help them. Arguably L4D more than any other game requires teamwork. One lost man makes a huge difference. So whilst you may pride yourself on being a crack shot, you are only as good as the slowest member of your team. Make sure you are with him/her. Don’t rush off ahead dragging everyone at your speed.

3. You don't have to be stood on top of each other, but know where your friends are, and make sure they know where you are.

4. Don't order people around. You may know the map backwards, but again, newer people may not and may not be keeping up, or may want to explore. Yes, it slows you down, but there was a time when you were new.

5. Help each other, talk to each other, have fun, and then worry about getting to the end.

6. Bad manners/bad sportsmanship isn’t tolerated in any of the other games that this community support and it will not be tolerated on this one.

Talk to each other, ask for help, offer help. This isn’t a boot camp, people play for fun, not to be shouted at and ordered around.

A quick browse of the Steam forums show numerous people looking for a mature team based community where they can enjoy L4D amongst other games. Communities like ours are few and far between. If people joined our server recently they would not return and I, for one, don't want the community to have that reputation.  Feed one game in the community and they will all benefit. The community is nothing without all of it's members so don't assume that because you've been here a while that you have a divine right to play how you like.

I have left this thread open as there’s no reason you cannot constructively comment on your servers in your community, but I will delete and lock it if it turns into a flame war.

Haven't played L4D myself yet (waiting for it to drop in price a bit), but I can totally see where you are coming from and how behaving your best can make a huge impact :D

Doorman

Don't know where that came from. It all seems quite 'dMw' to me. Having said that I'm not on every night.

through careful management I\'ve got most of it left.

The game is so much better when you get 4 on 4, nothing like the proper teamwork you get then, or the infected punishing every small mistake.

Like in getting to mercy pulling ppl off the roof & out the window :norty:
