Let me guess. :g: W Smoker, XXX_AK_47, or/and XXX_50 CAL_GUN? All the same guy we think. Oh I do wish we could catch him. Maybe we will, who knows? :flirty:
Having said that, that will always be the way of demos. Buy the full game and we can run cars other than F1600s. I'm a bit loathe to password the server because we do get some damned nice chaps on.

Isn't it possible to ban people, then?

I have yet to actually play nkp online. There never seem to be any people on when I check the server. I did some offline testlaps on Prato yesterday and I'm loving it! Wonderful circuit with some higher speed corners. And nice wide strips of grass that give you a bit of a margin of error when you go off :)

No, it's not possible at the moment but it is being worked on. My feeling is that Kunos, never in a million years, envisaged such a thing a wreckers. Welcome to the world Kunos! :D

Beats me. :sideways: Surely there must be more entertaining stuff to do? Such as cleaning your toenails with an icepick or trying to knit while wearing boxing gloves..

spudgun55

yeah i hope the patch for this problem happens sooner rather than later. could end up damaging the small population for this game, could end up with  even less people playing it.:crying:

Speaking of the nKP population of racers.. why can we only see like 12-15 servers in the server list, while it says there are ~ 300 servers in total?? Is this where all the racers are? Surely there must be more than 10-15 people online in the evenings..? :g:

Mille Sabords

Maybe only demo servers show up?

thats not the case, even the full unlocked game only shows averageof 12 servers?:g:

This theory is in it's early stages and is at this moment, being worked on.

The initial flurry of excitement with the advent of 1.0.3 has subsided. People that tried it discovered that the on screen information they were so used to, didn't exist in nKP and so went back to...well, LFS. And that's fine, at least they tried it. I do find it strange that we accept hardcore mode in CoD4/5 but with driving 'games' it's a no-no.

Another reason is people's inherent impatience. They see a server has a race in progress and won't wait 10 minutes to join. This has been seen in LFS if you make the server 'no midrace join' People join, discover and leave. Instant gratification is king.

netKar PRO, I believe, was made with leagues in mind. From an operational point of view it still isn't geared towards pick up racing.

Maybe a more formal approach by dMr would work. :g:
Answers on a postcard.

Itchy

What do you mean by a more formal approach?
I have no problem with waiting for races to finish to join a server/car/circuit of choice, because I look for the quality. I know the dMr servers will, by and large, have drivers who will race hard but fair, the exceptions being the idiot wreckers we sometimes see (They do it because there are a group of people who find it too hard to do anything else other than destroy/vandalise the efforts of others. Use them for tameshigiri, I say... /rant), even inexperienced drivers seem to appreciate this style of racing. I certainly did, and I stay because of this, and because of the lack of elitism found on some other servers.
I would hate to see the servers passworded to solve the wrecker problem, but open servers will always attract these idiots. Perhaps in some respects hardcore mode is a weapon to use against the mindless hoards, pretty boring for them if their first bit of "fun" leaves them stranded in the pits for 10 mins!
Annoying for the people they take out, but I can't see Mr Smoker et al hanging around to do it on a regular basis.
Apologies if this is a bit of a ramble, but I've had less than 10 hours sleep in the last 72 and the ability to think rationally/logically has slipped out to the pub for a breather and a couple of pints.....

well put that man:clap:, i agree with all that you have quoted, the hardcore mode is not the issue, the issue i feel is that 1, not enough people play netkarpro:sad:,  2 the problem of idiots:thumbsdownsmileyani (as the original post?)

I didn't say that WE have a problem with hardcore did I? I was asked why nobody is playing it and game my thoughts as to why. I've been on the server every night and only get a few strangers, albeit a few recognisable names. So where are you?
As for the problem of idiots what do you do if you can't kick/ban them? Make the server private or only have full game cars? Not enough of us (dMr) have bought the full game and my interests are primarily for dMr drivers. Chicken - egg, egg- chicken. At my reckoning there are 5 of us with the full game. Itchy, Spud, Vobler, Deetz and myself, so that puts F1800, F2000 and FTarget out of the equation.

As for the 'more formal' comment I was pondering, nothing more, having a stated time there will be races. At least you know you'll get a go.

You tell me.

EDIT: Re-reading Craig's post, are you asking for Full mode on our 'demo' server? I'm game for that but, how many 'passers by' would we get? We can try it by all means.

He's a longtime LFS wrecker as well, with his weed and gun related names.  You'll have his IP if you've ever banned him from a server; I know he's banned from the airattack servers so they probably have his IP.  Might be possible to filter him from the nKp server using that IP or range, using a firewall?

Doorman

Good thinking, unfortunately no-one even coming close to those names are on our ban list.
