that 1 of the left 4 dead servers gets left at four players until there is requests to have both at 8?
 
ill explain tonight we had a full server, at map change it was a little slow to change so by the time garra and me got back on it was empty, but friends showed the guys we had just played as still being in game.
 
so there we were, 1 new and shinny and but a moment ago nearly empty server now a full server and garra and me on the other full server which was now empty, garra then left, if the other server had have been set to 4, ppl would have percervered and we would all still be playing
 
another solution would be to give l4d admin powers to ppl who actually play it?
 
and YES i did ask the other admins in the other  game to change it

Firstly, there are sufficient L4D admins around and I was on Steam so you could have asked me to sort something out for you.

Secondly, when I looked initially, there were 8 players on one server and 6 on the other. If one server had been left as 4 player then 2 people would not have got a game! If both servers are at 8 player then we maximise the number of people that can play.

If people want to play on a 4 player server (and neither server is sitting at 4 player) then ask one of the admins, however, if people are on a 4 player server and the 8 player is full and someone else wants to play then that 4 player server WILL be moved to 8 whether the 4 players are in the middle of a game or not.

Whether we leave the servers at 4 or 8 it won't please everyone and the server will have to be moved from 4 to 8 or the other way.

Did the other admins give you a reason for not changing - did you get any response from them?

its possible as steam has been playing up a little that i couldnt see ppl online as i had a friends sync error after we disconnected from the server. I have now restarted steam and it says you were online as is pen, but you werent showing as such before i restarted, so i apologise for that
 
i think a list of server admins would be a nice to help out players in server related situations?

There seemed to be some sort of network problem last night. I wonder if that is what stopped me re-connecting? I tried the other server and got in, after a delay, and we all suffered from quite bad lag for the next 20 minutes.
 
And aplologies Sulky I missed your Steam messages. All I can say in my defense is they must have come through while fending off a zombie horde so I didn't hear the ping :doh:

I also heard about people not being able to connect to the CoD4server.
I got in just fine but there was no-one.
Then again, BB posted something allready about the servers and connection and so...
