My bloody CPU fan does! :blink: One of the blades came off and the fan started to sound like a jet engine. Raced down to the local shop and bought me a new one ... back on track again.

That happened to me once. Luckily I noticed it and switched the pc off to be safe. Got a new replacement direct from Intel although it took some persuading to dispatch a replacement even though my product was only one year into a three year retail warranty.

Stresses in the material (microcrack) in combination with high rpm.

Ah well I hope I manage to play L4D for more than 5 minutes as I did yesterday.

I had a shuttle pc at work with a seized fan.  For two weeks our server room smelt like hot melted solder till I figured where the smell was coming from.  Damn it was pungent, made my eyes water and gave a little "high"
 
I immediatly shut down the pc and took the case off, burning my fingers on the case frame in the process.

Stryker, did you have the Shuttle's XPC-mode on it?
My Shuttle is running 24/7 and with the ICE-mode no heating problems at all.
It's nice and qquiet for a SFF.
