they strand there, fight, they build a hut in a tree, there was a chubby one, one kid gets hurt, and is abandoned. What the heck is the name of the film?? I have trawled google's power search for 30 mins now... :sideways:

Yup sounds like Lord of the flies to me too.

Cracking move - poor ol' Piggy

If you like LOTF read Joseph Conrad's 'Heart of Darkness'. They explore similar themes and are often compared.

Am I right in thinking Heart of Darkness was the inspiration behind Apocalypse Now? hmm dunno but it rings a bell

You are indeed correct (the making of documentary of Apocalypse Now is named after the book).

Also, if LOTF is your kind of thing, try Battle Royale. Modern Japanese film about kids in a near-future society who get sent to an island and are forced to kill each other. Sort of like The Running Man meets LOTF. Interesting little film.
If I wanted you to understand I would have explained it better

Lord of the Flies? I've not seen the film but in the book the kid doesn't get hurt, he gets dead! A big rock on his head if I remember correctly?

You are probably right, I only recall it vaguely
