I dont see this game becoming a success, honestly.. If you hump a player base this bad, they just move on to other alternatives.. and there are plenty

COD 4 is probably their biggest rival, and will whoop it's ass for some time to come unless they stop assuming pc gamers are drooling console gamers who just prefer a higher resolution and a mouse.

Now available for pre-purchase on Steam. I wonder if it'll make the top-sellers list.

L4D 2 is #2. And I think valve has earned that place by continuous honesty with the customer and information about the game. Yes it's too soon, yes there hasn't been enough DLC for the original yet. But they haven't turned round and made people cancel their pre-orders weeks from launch.

EDIT: Refreshed and it's #5. Doing well for a Ã,£35 game.

I am tempted to buy this.

For two reasons:

  • Theres a game drought currently with few "decent high profile" games out
  • I really enjoyed the last one
I know its alot of money and the server issues but if you put it in perspective the wow players among us pay Ã,£8 a month roughly maybe even more.

Even if you played this for 3 months solidly it would be what you would pay for wow.

I am going to grab it on steam shortly as its going to be integrated by valve as they have just signed a huge deal with activision to allow steam integration via steamworks.

Now valve will try i would imagine to get everything sorted as i discussed with OB and TL at the lan so hopefully they might sort out the dedicated server fiasco.

As if they don't they will be dealing with alot of angry pc gamers.

Its not a sunken ship yet and i'd love it to be a game we can play both at the lan and as a community.

I admire your optimism but sadly I don't share it.  I don't see Valve having much sway with Activision. :sideways:

I hope I'm wrong but I won't be holding my breath to find out...

I am with Boon here mate I dont see it ever changing, the single player will be a chuckle but I dont think it will be worth the Ã,£50 for it.  My money is staying in m pocket for the moment.

Word. Lack of server support pretty much kills the MP aspect stone dead for me.

I might pick up a copy if/when it hits the Ã,£20 mark as  I judge a SP only game to be worth that, but for now I'm going to leave well alone.

60€ for 5 to 6h single player, do the math.
