Shogun

My heart sinks when a map changes and I hear shogun.wav. Am I alone? Mog bit the dust yet this PITA remains. Please make it stop!  :frusty:

The admins take note when people 'vote with their feet'. If we see people leave when a certain map comes up then we have to do something.

We've pulled mog and bitterwine from the rotation and will pull others if needed.

My understanding is that the full version is just cosmetically changed so how would that aid gameplay?

It is? I thought they had changed some stuff. If so ... yank it and while you are at it remove thunder. Add nuke and vegas.

Think there are better hostage maps than that one.

I will agree that the majority of the map is not used, this is due to PCS boundaries rather than the map being poor. The fact that so little of the map is used though shouldn’t really be an issue as the game play centres around the hostages. As to the teams having to be balanced to allow good play I think actually adds to some maps, and enhances the realism of the situation, (“we have a situation where 6 terrorists have taken hostages, send in 6 of our special forces”) personally I would send in more CT’s to rescue the hossies.
While this may not be the best hostage map it does play differently to a lot of other maps, otherwise we would be playing the same strategy on aesthetically different maps rather than tactically different maps.

I leave whenever shogun comes on ...IT is the new Aztec of my hatred (which i now like again  :blink: )

And Thunder is a good map, as stryker said it is down to wether you have a good team that work well together....as with most maps this one is excellent if you have 2 evenly matched teams.

Yes it is some distance to run but there are flaws with all maps.

CT / T doesnt matter i enjoy being on both.

I agree with what Smite said about agreeing with what Twig said about agreeing with what Stryker said. I like Thunder, it's one of those maps that can be really good if the players play as a team, but Shogun is a bit pants, was fun at first but now it's not.
