It seems that Sainsburys, in their wisdom, have decided to change the name of the humble pollock to "Colin".

Now, pollock is a fish, a very tasty one, not unlike cod, but the powers at Sainsburys have now decided that their customers are "too embarrassed" to ask for it by name, so have renamed it Colin.

Next on the list for re-branding, I suppose, will be the haddock, probably to be called Dave. "Two pounds of Colin please and a little bit of smoked Dave".

Ah bejaysus, where's it all going to end?

Me and the missus often go for a pub lunch on a Friday when our local has fresh fish on the menu. I never tire of ordering a 'pair of pollocks' :D
