I've been keeping an eye on Aion which seems to have rolled out quite successfully in Korea and China and is due for a NA/EU launch this year.  Anyone else been watching it?

Tes i have been following it for the past 1 to 1,5 year or so.
It seems very promissing to me. I actually hope it will become a wow killer for me.

I'm gonna buy the game, and if I'm hooked for more then a month, wow is a bye bye.

I'm almost certain I'll start as a spirit master (first mage ofcourse) but after that spirit master :)
Always like the way of the shaman, only this time its less warrior-ish, and more warlock-ish :)

Read the worlds story. Pretty interesting. I enjoyed Guildwars so this looks promising too.

Got my key in time for the beta weekend, but then found out it was a 6GB download.  No idea what I expected really, but on my slim 1Mbps connection that is a definite no-no. :sad:

What was the beta like Tobious?

It seems like i got lucky and received 1 of those pre order keys. I am downloading the 6 gig now and i can try out the beta next weekend. Looking forward to try some classes that interest me but are not my class i will aim for when the game goes retail.
 
Did anyone else got a beta key and are planning on playing it upcomming weekend ( 17-20 July)?

It is very pretty to say the least, only got to play for about 3 hours took so long to dl it. And server went down.  Not sure yet if I will get it but will see in time.

Might be around next weekend for more of it

Saw this game a few days ago on steam (where they say it is released the 25th of september, and if you buy it on steam now i believe they said you would get a free beta key) must say i looks pretty nice from the videos etc. i have seen, I just hope they will do the voiceover and translations well.

EDIT: dont know if you read it, but from what i have read on other forums it seems that the gameplay should be very much like WoW

Aye, I bought a Collector's Edition for the experience and stats boosting equipable items you get with it.  It's on Steam too.

I have a beta key which i hope to use when the servers are back up next weekend. Its getting released in September and seems more focused towards pvp, ill report back soon :)

3 days?, i downloaded mine in 4 hours :rolleyes:. 4th beta starts on friday, although ill be on the american servers :)

Been playing in last two beta weekends, it's a very nice game and looks stunning.  I don't want to compare it to WoW except to say that having played Aion, I'll never play WoW again. :dribble:

I've played both sides and I must say I preferred the Elyos.  Although I don't normally play the 'good' guys, Elyos' home land is just so much more appealing.  If anyone wants to jump in next weekend my brother and I are playing on the server whose name I've forgotten, but it begins with M.

Don't go on Ariel or the other server beginning with A unless you like long waits till a place opens up. :rolleyes:
