Cool :) You will do a lot more with the PS3 in full 24 hrs :flirty: Wish I had one :) As soon as you have completed your unit, go check the top 20 :)

Can anyone help me? I've just decided that I will give this folding a try and now I've downloaded it to my computer.
And now I've got some problems with it. Every time when I start the F@H, after a while I get this message. ''Folding@home has run into a serious error running the core. and will shutdown''.
Someone please tell me what's wrong!

I'm no expert myself, but which version did you get? CPU command line /taskbar version or the GPU command line / taskbar version?

Not sure.. I chose the first one from the link that TL have posted.. The one for windows xp and vista..

Hmm the taskbar version then. I read that it might have to do with a lack of rights or installing it at a place where you dont have enought rights, for example, program files.

Are you using vista by any chance?

Also, did you try and reinstall the client?

I'm using Windows XP and no I didn't try to reinstall it yet.

Hmm you might want to try and reinstall it in a different location, maybe C:/ or something like that. But like I said, I am no expert in all this, so hopefully one of the big boys will join the topic soon ;)

Could you try and find the file fahlog.txt and post the contents of it here?

I am not totally sure, but it should be here:

Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Folding-something (cant recall name)

I think I got it working now.. At least it says CPU - F@H: Working (0/200)
So is it really trying to do something now?

Yes it does appear to be doing something.

By the way the LOG file is usually in the same folder that F@H is installed. In my case it is:

C:\Program Files\Folding@Home

Post the contents here if you like....
Start Folding and get yourself one of those nice new badge thingies, it\'s a good cause.  Check out the stats

I've had that and couldn't solve it.
The only way I got around it was to install the service option. Still not convinced that working correctly either though tbh

WhiteWolf

Do you mean that FAHlog.txt?

Yup. That collects all the data. However, you seem fine now.

I googled the error earlier and it seems this error occured a couple of times when working with Speicifc WU's. Delete your works folders and F@H will download a new WU and hopefully start folding :yahoo:
