I also like the idea of restricting the cars a bit. There were a couple of guys that kept taking a car that was way faster than everyone elses. (I think they were on my team actually)

I hope you're not referring to me driving the Capri while you guys were in Escorts? I found it to be very well matched - to my surprise - and had some great laps with Deetz. I had to really push it to keep up with him, and only noticed a very slight advantage on long straights, but even that was negligible. No doubt Deetz and Moose would be significantly faster in the Capri, though

Don't be so sensitive, you're a dMr guy and don't do that sort of thing! I made the server public and he's referring to the kind of client you get on occassions.

Yeah, I'm definitely getting into this, even if I have to drive a slightly faster car to get some close racing

I'm thinking about making a small video of some of the close action of the past couple of nights, but I'm a bit reluctant to start. I've never done anything like that, but I'll play around a bit with the replay output feature, see how it goes.

Good news. So how does it work, exactly? Can we see what cars are enabled on the server before we join the server? For example, in the server browser list? Or do we have to keep trying with different cars until we get in?

Well you can see which cars are enabled in the server list, but more importantly you would be able to choose ONLY cars which are allowed on server, once you press connect to server.

Classes sorted out so far are only TC-1 and TC-2. GTC will be harder to sort, because all porsches are listed under same class, and some of them are faster some slower. Same goes for the Capri's and Pantera's.
I'm thinking of workaround for this by forcing the fixed setup and then creating setup for faster cars which would make them slower, shorter gears, lower rpm, more fuel - this last one looks the best to me, as it isn't possible to autmate weight penalty adding, and we could set fixed amount of fuel for faster and slower cars. But then again, fuel is burned over a race distance.. And some cars in HGTC have stupidly high mpg, like mini 1310 needs 60 liters per 100km :blink:

Keep it simple Smithy. I don't think fuel consumption is of paramount importance. Just sort them into roughly equal performance.

Ugh, I just spent one and a half hours (could be even two) exporting one (1) lap to an .avi file And for some reason it doesn't even have audio! The video quality is good, though, but the resolution is a bit small. I tried exporting in a bigger resolution but that would have taken forever, for only 1 lap.

Anyway, now I have a 2 minute video that weighs in at 129mb :blink: Without audio. So I'd have to find a fitting song to add to it or something. And then it doesn't even have different camera angles yet, just the "TV camera"... I'd like to insert some in-car and bonnet footage as well :g: Oi, making videos is time consuming!

The first step when creating videos out of rF footage, is AVOID the built-in avi exporter
Try to do it with fraps or anything else, just not default exporter

Oh dear, looks like my days of getting 2nds is over. Well done Einar. Be sure to grab the tracks etc. Specially look out for the Cadwell .gdb file which is attached to a post somewhere in this forum.
