Quote from: lovretta;274126I'm using 900 degress in logitech profiler and 24 - 28 degress in garage setup, feels very good to me.

My steering is not adjustable. Does anyone know why?

No wonder I'm slow

You have to unlock the 'user adjustable stering ratio' in the upgrade tab for every car you drive.

Thanks! I will try that.

Quote from: lovretta;274126Just in case - Ferrari 365 GTB aka Daytona had 3,5 turns lock-to-lock ;)
I also was uncovinced that steering ratios were so high..
Wow, 3,5 turns  That's 1260°! Maybe that's because they didn't have power steering in those cars :g:
Quote from: lovretta;274126Also, you may buy upgrade which says "user adjustable steering", it will enable you to set whatever the steering lock you want.

Alright, I'll try those settings and see how it feels. Thanks again.

Wait, there are engine failures? That's nice. Will have to try that out as well :D

They had this huge lock-to-lock because they didn't have power steering.

Just for the information, my 11 years old Renault 19 has 4 turns lock-to-lock.
Thats 1440 degress :yahoo:
Also no power assisted steering.

I'm probably the best teacher for that :D
Yesterday i've set at least two engines on fire. One on half of the raceat laguna seca, other one, short time after checkerd flag (P1) at some other track, i was going for one more lap, and then... fire through the bonnet - if that happened some 30 seconds earlier

Yeah, that's what I said :eyebrow:

Hmm you did

Hmm i misunderstood it in some way - in my head what you said sounded like you meant that "they didn not install power steering due to large steering ratio " Don't really understand how i got this :g:

I wonder where all this close racing you guys are talking about is at  I didn't see any on the server tonight :g:

You need to get up to speed then. Instead of disconnecting, use the time to practice.

Katsu, you asked about the clutch and being able to change gear without it. This is what I've been able to find out.
QuoteIn GTR, if you want to use the H-pattern shifter, don't forget to go to advanced in the controls menu and make sure the 'hold button for gear' is checked.
in rFactor go to the controller.ini in Userdata\Katsu and look for this line
Gear Select Button Hold="1" // Enable this option if using a gear select device that holds down a joystick button while in a gear and releases all buttons in neutral (such as the Act-Labs USB Shifter)

This is pretty much right as well I reckon.
QuoteTo the best of my knowledge, all of the ISI based sims (GTR, rFactor, GTL...) allow shifting with out using the clutch. Live for Speed requires use of the clutch pedal if you are using a direct select h pattern though. It is a toss up though, because most race cars have straight cut (dog ring) gears that can be shifted with out usingthe clutch, but it requires lifting and revving the throttle appropriately to allow for the shift to happen. Even most road cars have a sweet spot in the RPM range that allows for shifting with out the clutch, although that isn't recommended! Alot of the less advanced cars like those in the Speed World Challenge series, TC and GT, use stock gearboxes when a sequential isn't fitted and require the use of a clutch. I personally like the fact that rFactor doesn't require use of a clutch. Just turn off auto blip and auto lift and you will have to do your own RPM matching just like a real car, although it is not nearly as sensitive. But turn them off and try dropping from 4th to 2nd gear with out blipping the throttle and I bet the rears lock up on you! You will also peg the limiter if you upshift with out lifting.

Actually I was referring to the amount of people on the server. I thought there'd be more.

Also, I just checked and it turns out I was driving a version of the Abarth that has less power and weighs more than the one you and Stu were driving :sideways: Stu said "we're driving the Abarth" so... I buy an Abarth. Little do I know that there are different versions, I'm a noob! This also explains why I couldn't load the setups Stu sent me and why I was driving around with an only very minimally tweaked default setup.

The new iRacing build was released yesterday. "Everybody" was there.... :)

I never used this, i only do map gears in controller config screen, and everyhing works.
Except that you still can shift without clutch, which is rF problem.

And so you replaced the mighty Escort with abarth's..

Yup ,it was just a quiet night.  Deetz was out, loveretta was unavailable, Vobler was trying the new spec racer in iRacing .  Katsu joined after you left.

Sorry about the confusion with the Abarth, my bad, i didn't realise there was more then one
