I've downloaded the RC1 iso from the Microsoft site.

Sorry, can someone tell me how I make it workable as a DVD?

Thanks

Use a program such as InfraRecorder to burn the ISO image to a DVD (I believe the button to push inside the program says "Write Image") :)

I'm sure I just double clicked and it automatically opened Nero ready to be burned from there

Apparently I actually exist! Or maybe it was the drink?

I don't have Nero. In fact I had no DVD recording software until that InfraRecorder link. I did have Nero once but removed it once the trial had expired.

InfraRecorder works perfectly and it's free which is always a bonus :)

I've installed it and have yet to play with it. Any good tips or things people have come across as yet?

Well I think I agree, not sure what that bracket is doing there :bleh:

I loved XP but since the 3rd patch I started to have real problems with it, BSOD and from some reason my FPS in games would suddenly drop and the game would become unplayable.

That a side I do really need new PC, ISP and Router tbh

EDIT : The missus's PC get crashing BSOD till I uninstalled the 3rd Patch too anyone else had problems?

Sticking with Vista at the moment, I've only just got that up and running really don't want to spend any more time faffing around with more installations.

rather spend all my spare time playing games (which isn't much)

Quote from: Luminance;275592I'll stick to XP for as long as possible.

It's kind of funny... Microsoft's greatest competitor is their own 8 (?) year old OS! I bet they're all regretting that they made XP so good. :D

I'll upgrade to Windows 7 when I build my new PC a little over a year from now.

Just wondering how many people go and buy a new os to upgrade an exsiting system. I would have thought most people upgrade when buying new kit!

OldBloke

I'll upgrade (down Smilo) to Windows 7 when the first must-have doohickey only runs on it.

I upgraded to vista to get DX10 support. I didn't see much point having an DX10 graphics card and not using DX10.
It's like if you have a 64bit processor it's silly to use anything but vista 64bit (I know there's a 64bit XP but the drivers were a joke when I tried it)

QFT. I'll be going to Windows 7 when it gets released simply because it's what Vista *should* have been, and I am lucky enough to get legal free copies of new MS OSes via work.
