When will you or have you moved to windows 7?

Theres been a real flourish on the forum and quite a few people taking up windows 7.

I will be trying it at the end of the month on a clean hard disk and pull out my xp hdd. Had a bad experience with dual boot so gonna try a single disk and see what i think. Should be fine from what others have said but i will keep my xp disk safe incase i need to revert back

So simply will you try the rc1 trial as its a valid windows copy till june 2010 or wait till its gone gold?

I voted for I will try the rc1 and then make my decision

Think i will be sticking to Vista (until it breaks) cause I only see Windows 7 as being a very expensive patch / fix on Vista :angry:, but i may change my mind, need to play with it more

got it running on the lappy and duel booting the main, only using it for surfing on my main thou, vista 64 can still do everything else.

i probably wont get it for my main as i still think this is what vista should have been 2 yrs ago so i aint paying for what i should have got.

probably get it for the lappy thou as its quicker than xp pro that was on it

I never moved from XP to Vista.
So I think XP to 7 is a good upgrade.

But once released it will probably be part of a brand new system.

So an all over upgrade for me

Same here, with L4D reigniting my love for PC gaming I guess I'll be updating at some point, so i'll be wanting a new OS to go with the new system I'd suppose.

I'll put it on when I buy it. Which will be as soon as I see it released at a good price. Hopefully I'll get a good deal if I upgrade my copy of vista.

I use Vista to play games and Linux for everything else. Vista plays games fine and Windows 7 is a very poor substitute for Ubuntu 9.04. So I'll keep things as they are.

Supposedly they fixed a lot of memory overhead issues and such in Windows 7, so the OS should be far less bloated. Got a mate running the beta on a pretty damn high spec laptop (Core 2 Duo @ 2.6 gig, 4GB RAM, GeForce 8 series mobile) and it flies compared to Vista on the same machine. As such, as soon as the Uni gets a VLK version that i'm eligible to use at home i'll be installing it. Won't be going to the RC1 only to then have to reinstall a few months later though.
