hard disk activity utility?

Anyone know of a simple utility, which, say, flashes when there is activity with the HDD? Something to have in the tray fx

Sorry for quick reply - my dinner is getting cold :)

Try Performance Monitor which comes with Windows.  It doesn't sit in the tray but you can configure it to monitor numerous items giving you a history via a graph of what's going on.

For instance clicking the little green cross you can add tons of items to the monitor.  In your case you might want to find 'Physical Disk' and then Disc/bytes read/write.

Have a look and play :)

Yeah that is a good app - but I just wanted the led :)

Yeah but the suitcase is stashed away to save place so I would have to have a wire going all the way up on the desk.... wait... that is no bad idea :wink:
