ok, scratch that. Your IP is dynamic. I've done some checks and the current IP you have is listed in some block lists so this could be why our anti-spam service is picking up your posts.

When was the last time you rebooted your router? As dynamic IP's are usually refreshed then. May be worth a shot, but if you get assigned the same IP it'd be worth checking to see if Virgin can allocate you a different one to see if the problem goes away.

I'm 99% certain it is IP related as you are the only user suffering this problem.

ok, I think it's your name. I believe that you've been blacklisted on akismet.

I'll contact them to see if your name is blacklisted and if so, to remove it.

I'm not sure, but I just posted something & it went straight through, so, if this works alright, I should be good again......

At last :D

Sorry it took so long to get sorted, Riz, but good work by Gandy in tracking down the problem and getting it fixed :thumb:

Ok it was a permission issue. Only moderators could vote in the forum New Technology Inventions, I took the liberty to change that to registered users. So now it should be solved

Common spam tactic now. Spammer makes a seemingly legitimate post, then once they've been seen to be a member of a forum the account details get passed to the spam bots.

Another trick is to join the forum and post nothing. However when you check their profile their personal website links to some porn, Viagra etc site. I'm not entirely sure how it works but I think the idea is to simply leave the members Id in the database in the hope that search engines spider it and boost the website up their listings or something? Hence I tend to take a look through the newly registered members and ban any zero posters with pron sites as their personal web pages.

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.
