Metamod and sourcemod have been installed (didn't think it would be so complicated on a mod not supported by Steam.  The advertisements are working as is the admin menu.  To get to the menu you need to press the Escape key, after pressing the key you have bound to sm_admin.

Some of the commands are not supported by the mod but changing maps is and the chat command "!kick whitey" worked fine too :flirty:

I've also installed an auto team balancer that moves the most recently connected person at the start of the next round if the teams are out of balance.  I installed this as it was obvious from our test the other day and from various forum post on Allied modders, that switching teams in the game is an issue.

Any problems then let me know.

Had a mixture of good and bad games tonight,
Good points:
Had a full server for a good 2-3 hours+ (22 max right?).
At a couple of stages where people stuck together and worked as a team, with great use of coms.
Autobalance works very well. Admin commands worked (although didn't have to kick anyone)

Bad Points:
Some people didn't use coms at all (publics)
If possible one of the maps needs removing, not tactical at all (Snowy one...Iso..somthing something, I'll find out, I changed the map at that point).
Some people didn't stick together.

One other thing, is it possible to add the dMw / forum address in the chat window with the other messages, I know there is one at the top of the screen, but (and for some strange reason) people were reading out the chat messages, maybe they just get noticed there more?

I have asked some dMw'ers what they thought and the majority were still undesided, but some said they really like it.

(I take it we was not able to use rcongui in this mod, or was I doing something wrong?)

Thanks
Snokes

Let me know the name and I'll get it removed.

I've added an extra message that comes up in the chat area pointing at the forum.  I've left the other message pointing to the website in place as well.

It was built for CS and plugs into the switch team menu. It must work differently in NEOTOKYO.  I'll see if there is a way to make it work but I don't hold out much hope.

Cheers Whitey, The main commands (change map / kick player etc) are the main ones and work just fine, was just thinking about sending out the chat messages and what not (rules, guidance, forum) thats all, so I'm happy with the current way it works :)

For future reference, someone popped onto our IRC channel and said we should be signing up for the NEOTOKYO tournament.  I think that's a bit premature but here's the link to the steam group about it in case it takes off: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/neotokyotournament
and to the website: http://www.187ciclan.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19924

The map name is Isolation (how was that difficult to remember )

Also, if this is of any help, found how to fix sourcemod menu:

I'm really excited about this .. could be just what we need :)

That's it. Move along. Just thought I'd mention it.

Sorry to be a pain (again), Is it possible to make the map change done on a round limit (i.e. first to 11) basis rather than a time based? as you can start a round with only a few seconds before the map changes.

Bear in mind I've not even played it yet ...

Is this going to be better with low numbers?
If no-one picks up the Ghost isn't it just CS with sci-fi skins?
Based on the perceived interest - should we arrange a private server session for dMw intro?

For the ghost rescue mode, I think the numbers would work in a similar way to CS hostage rescue.  So lower numbers would be better (8v8 max?).
For team death match, I think higher numbers would be OK.  I'd rather stick to the Ghost rescue mode myself as it is more tactical.
As for being just like CS,  the answer is not really there is just enough there to make it as a standalone game. (IMO)
As far as a private server, I think we should stick to the master plan and see how the interest is on the public server based on members actually playing there.  If there is enough then lets adopt it and fire up a private server.

We could stick a password on the public server for an evening as a training night though. :)

IMHO:

For a public server, I think it may be better with lower numbers (at the moment the servers have been full, or very close to, on many occasions) only because a close nit unit is difficult to control and people tend to wonder off, (maybe a 16 limit? )I don't think that this would be an issue with a private server.

It is very similar to CSS on many ways, and there are occasions where the ghost is not picked up and becomes a TDM, however, there are other elements (especially if we add a dMw approach) that can be utilized, such as the different classes and abilities (night-vision, thermal, movement, camo etc) where a plan can be devised and used. We 'could' introduce a rule of frag hunting (no attempt to capture the ghost / working in a team) but would be difficult to admin on a public server, so encouragement and leadership is the best options and works well i think.

A private server would be good for helping people learn the game and to get use to the maps, which can be difficult to do on a public.

my 2 cents

VC is a must in this game!

I found a cvar neo_score_limit that should change the map when a team gets that number of rounds.  I've added it to the config with the value set to 10 and changed the max_timelimit to 90 minutes, so the map will change after a team gets 10 rounds or 90 minutes have passed.  I need to restart the server for it to take affect but it's been full most of the evening!

Any of the admins can stick a password on the public server for a training session but please remove it when your done as we want to encourage visitors :)

Liberator

I was on last night and on the "isolation" map I found that everyone was running from the 'ghost' at spawn, so when we were in the house I picked it up every time to some relatively good effect in targeting the attackers, but it became a bit of a sniperfest. Although a few good scout classes did some flanking and wiped them out.

Definitely need a dMw night though, to really get the feel of it in fully structured teams.

After doing this the menu comes up ok but the 0 (exit) option is grey and doesn't work.  It worked better having to use escape for me.  Does it work ok for you Snokio?
