Sparko

thanks for your help tonight, all the remarks about me being crap really helped! :ranting2: , i wanted to come and learn how to play l4d but all i got was people moaning at me, i wouldnt have been so poor if people explained to me what the hell i was supposed to do, or at least let me know what kind of tactics are played.  sorry to rant guys but seriously it wasnt called for!

Benny

I'm sorry you had a bad experience tonight Sparko, I would like to assure you it's an exception rather than the norm.

I've already PM'd you regarding the incident as you left before much could be said and hopefully we can put it behind and get you back on the server.

Cheers,

Benny

Sparko,
Sorry about your experience. Was it anyone in particular? (via PM if you want to tell me)
If you want an introductory session let me know and I'll try and arrange one. Getting the hang of playing the infected does take a bit of practice and playing on a full server with others who are playing a game probably isn't the best place to learn.
I do hope it hasn't put you off this game

If you want some pointers just let me know. We could set something up most nights next week.
I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.

Sorry to hear this mate, I'm sure this is an isolated incident, maybe these people didn't realise you was new to the game or whether it was said in jest rather than being offensive, give us a shout on steam if you need any help, and sorry i couldn't join L4D with you earlier. I know the admins will take this seriously.

Hope to see you on there soon
 Bring on the randomness!
Apparently I actually exist! Or maybe it was the drink?

I wont name any names, im not like that, i was just a bit dissapointed in the way i was spoke too, just didnt feel like the dMw way thats all, im not going to blow this all out of preportion so will put it behind me now, was just annoyed that i had been waiting for a slot on the server, got all excited :woot2: and then was made to feel like i didnt belong, if that makes sense

If you let people know you need things to be taken a little slower I think you generally will have a good time on the server even as a beginner. However, newbies on the server to other players look very much like people mucking around. Often:
Wandering off alone
Not using voice comms
Not rescuing people trapped by special infected
etc etc.

All of these things are the bane of the existence of regular L4D players. I'm not saying it's your fault, or that the others were right to bully. Just that if one person works "against" the team it makes it very hard if not impossible to complete the mission, and people will understandably get upset.

Check out one of the many guides we've written for new players on here, and play a couple of games with anyone that offered to show you the ropes and you'll be well up to speed and ready to experience the DMW way we play the game. (which in VS is honestly some of the most fun you'll have in online play)
Juggling Hard Disks over concrete floors ends in tears 5% of the time.

I don't care who it was and I don't particularly want to know - it's totally unacceptable. I know we all josh around a bit and give and take a fair bit of banter but no one should be made to feel hacked off and certainly not made to feel unwelcome.

You did the right thing by posting it as has Benny as SH for jumping straight on it.

Besides, crap as you may be, you have yet to have the pleasure of watching my gameplay - which has reached the dizzy heights of mediocrity

I'm on tomorrow night so hope to see you then.

Cheers

I'd be happy to help out if it's wanted/needed.

Playing as infected can be a bit strange to start with & survivors no picnic either when the infected know what there doing.

Best idea would be to make sure when you join that everyone knows you'd like a few pointers/you've no idea whats going on.

Hold on Pen, you aren't that good yet....

Let's call a close to this one.
Sparko, as and when you want a return, shout and we'll make sure you get the gentle intro that everyone so far has received. I'm happy, as the rest of the guys are to spend some time on the server with you and break you gently ;)

See you soon.

Benny if you need a hand on the intro give me a buzz on steam

I came into this world with nothing,
through careful management I\'ve got most of it left.

Sparko

Thanks guys, it hasnt put me off and will hopefully be on in the near future to learn a few things, i will make sure i make people aware i am new to the game and take it from there . cheers

Don't know what this is about Sparko, but, whatever it is, it shouldn't have happened that you felt the need to leave the server. I was there but didn't hear anything untoward, but then again, I was probably busy being Benny's bitch, again......Seriously, there was probably no ill intent anyway....

As the rest suggested, get on the server, have a good time! If someone shouts at you, shout back!
