Custom Map Suggestions

Seeing as we have a regular 8 player game going everynight i thought i'd make a new thread.

For suggestions for coldstore/ meatlocker.


  • Deadcity has had several updates and might be worth a new look
Others which i have been recommended are:


  • Dam It
  • Escape from toronto
  • Dead Meat
  • Last Escape
Any other suggestions?

We did have Deadcity installed but it wasn't working out so we canned it.

We have a fine line to tread between multi-custom and vanilla maps, as a long time ago in CS we impacted our incoming players by having huge map-packs. Whilst we aren't public yet it's still a concern. That and the fact it's taken 3 weeks for most people to get DeathAboard right.

That said, give the maps a go, if you like them and you think they'd work, shout and we'll raise it in the main forum and see how we go.

With custom maps you need to make sure they support versus mode. That is what we play most often.
The Torono one has been around a while and I've been keeping an eye on it. I think it has got to the stage where a play test might be in order. :g:
I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.

Ok,

Had a look at Escape from toronto and i have to say it is rather poor both for versus and for campaign.

First map is an elongated subway and is exceptionally dark with a couple of dead ends and no real oppurtunity for versus to take a good stranglehold due to the lack of cover which is made up for by the darkness, meaning survivors need to keep flashlights on at all times.

The maps generally a bit muddled with the ability to follow tunnels that lead no where and on the second play through you are able to deliberately miss crescendo's.

2nd level again is a bit hit and miss with little good spawn locations.

In all this campaign is already down 2 maps of the 6 so i think its a no go.

Any further comments on this map?
