Everythings working but cant connect to games.
Keeps saying game is currently unavailable please try again at another time.
Been to the valve site they say "This error can happen when the Steam network is experiencing problems or downtime." So are they having problems and why is it that i cant seem to connect while others can what gives saw their status of theri servers it is at http://www.steampowered.com/status.html . They say they are fine any1 give me some help?

Seem in the game properties under half-life the status is ready to play, but in counter-strike props it says Launching... what the ...

I am on ISDN and have managed to get it working a couple of time sonly. Steam hangs, steam's servers are down, it provides me with a variety of spurious and incorrect error messages and it means I need to reboot my mahcine regularly to kick start steam again.

So yes I do not have broadband, but whether oen could call steam 'working' is highly questionable.

Right I ahve commenced me Steam download - only 7 and 1/2 hours left with a ADSL connection??? Using bittorrent, and the download is running at 7 kBs but the upload at 13??? WTF?

Cheeky mofos using my bandwidth, gimme some of yours!

Here's the state of play at Castle Doorman. After another bout of being p*ssed about I decided to completely uninstall every last fragment of Steam from my computer, including the registry. I then.......Oh Christ! You've all heard it and you've all done it. I did actually manage to get on MH this afternoon only to realise my config file had not been replaced. Popped out to fix that and bugger me if I'm back to square one!
Doorman's last stand is this, I downloaded the whole 9 yards! 723mb in a little under 3 hours. It now resides in my 'Downloads' file ready for a last ditch attempt.
