I did a reasonable qualy time (tenths off PB) but ended up 12th on the grid. Porsche Dude and Rooster left so I started in 10th.

I was delighted to see that the standard of driving through T1 on the first lap, where pandemonium usualy reigns, was superb and everybody was through cleanly. Well done everybody.

I settled down to put some grip in the tyres :roflmao: for the first few laps and tagged along behind Oldie and Jamin, having tried to ward off Obs for a few corners without sucess as he disappeared into the distance. OB and Ben were having a great dice and I think OB ot his line wrong and Ben had to swing wide, I was in like Flynn and nipped past both.

I managed to get a bit of gap, but Ben had problems with his controller and dropped back, eventually to retire (hard luck matey) but Oldie kept coming at me and kept me honest.

All was well until the pitstop at spot-on 30 mins. I had 1st gear set, so flat out the car would not to more than 50mph, so I dont know how I got the penalty for pitlane speeding. Round again to serve the penalty and came out about 30 secs adrift. Booger!

Fairly boring after that until Oldie patronisingly waited for me so we could have a bit of a private race with about 10 mins to go, however this was spoilt by the Aliens causing blue flags every 30 secs or so. No consideration some people.

On the whole, a very enjoyable combo. Congratz to Venca for his victory, Dee for close runners up spot and Easyed for the other podiminium place.

And to quote Mr Grace "Youve all done very well"

Pit lane limit is 48mph (80kph) isn't it?

Well it worked all bleedin week during the sprint races only to let me down last night. :ranting2:

Excellent combo and great to see so many dMr racers enjoying it. :thumb:

Shame about the penalty, Bob. We were set fair to dice all the way to the flag which is why I decided to wait for you. But, as you say, those quickies spoilt the plan :)

Grats to Venca and all who finished. Tough titties to those that didn't :narnar:

I also enjoyed this race very much. It was my first 1hr race in... nearly 4 months now, I think, and I enjoyed it from start to finish.

I started from the back row and after I passed Oldie, Lameduck and Jamin in the first few laps my only real race was with Somebody. I passed him after he made a mistake on the straight, but no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get him out of my rearview mirror! The gap of ~1 second stayed approximately the same for pretty much the entire race.

We switched positions after I made my pitstop as I came out of the pitlane directly behind him; now I was the hunter :norty: I managed to pass him again a couple of laps later on the straight after he messed up his chicane exit but he held on to my rear bumper again :boxing: Only during the last 10 minutes or so, as the faster guys were lapping us, did I manage to increase the gap to 6 seconds. I don't know if he got delayed letting the faster guys through or if he was having tyre problems.

Like I said, excellent combo and excellent race! Thanks everyone!

Seany

Enjoyable race for me :). Qualified 6th ahead of Andy and behind Somebody.  Took me a bit to get my tire temps up then I started reeling in Somebody, 'till lap 6 when I caught a spot of grass and went for a spin :taz:.  Only lost 1 place to Andy, rejoining just ahead of Obs.

Then came the fun as I slowly tried to recatch Andy.  Took me about 10 laps to close in, but as I grew bigger in his mirrors he got faster and faster :D  with us both eventually doing new PBs and our fastest laps.  I needed a rest, so it was pit stop time at the 30min mark.  I rejoined behind Steve who had also made a stop.  I hung on to his coat tails as best I could for the next 23 laps till the end, finally finishing in 5th. Great race, chasing or being chased for the duration.

Well done Venca and the Podium takers  :yahoo:

Bob the Bike

Thoroughly enjoyed it, After Q. last ( as usual).
T1, everyone through in good order, I then stayed fairly in touch (as in could see some of the cars in front) for 5 - 6 laps then bogged up chicane and caught wall.  kept with slightly damaged suspension until the leaders were close, then hit pits to keep out of way.
Lapped consistently in the low 25s with occasional 24s.
Learned a good few lessons, main one being, don't try to keep up with whoever has just passed me, it makes one slower.
Kept to a policy, if a gaggle approaches, go to the pits, just let singles past.
Hope I didn't balk anyone if so apologies extended

I think that is quite true.

What a comb, what a race:)The mighty LX6 took so much out of me ive been ill in bed for nearly 3 days:sad:
Quali was ok  & it was good to see the normal high standard of DMR driving as all made it through T1 OK.Found myself sitting behind Seany untill he made a mistake & i took full advantage, then he started catching me & i had to dig deep to stay in front untill he pitted(think i was slowing him up)
Settled down to a nice rythem & pitted with about 10 mins to go but was keeping an eye on my fuel(good call Ducky 3.5% left)
Once again great combo LX6 fab car:yahoo:
