Right - after reading the plethora of emails about the SNAFU that is Steam and 1.6 I have decided to jack in CS for a few weeks (please stifle those cries of joy).

I'll have a go once you lot have finished playing guinea pig

I have the 400mb file, but really can't be arsed to sit and wait for a response from a company so inept as valve. How could they not foresee demand being this high? CS is the no. 1 online game night after night. Doh !

I only started playing properly about 9 months ago and have always been impressed by the speed and responsiveness of WON and 1.5. Unfortunately these days may be over until this update sorts itself out, and even then I think non-BB users are gonna be totally screwed. Where will I get my lag kills from then eh?

So thats me - signing off for the foreseeable - hopefully see you in a few weeks :unsure: (not that any of you like me any way.....)

1. I fully understand the way you're feeling right now Chimpy. I often wonder why I've stuck with it after spending a wasted weekend on the servers and a day on my client. Anyway, hope you get everything sorted soon and look forward to seeing you on the server.

2. STOP FEELING SORRY FOR YOURSELF YOU MISRABLE PIPSQUEAK. INSTALL 1.6 AND DRAG YOUR SORRY A*SE ONTO THE NEAREST AVAILABLE SERVER.

I'll probably get bored and start it up in the early hours of this weekend. Not sure if I can go for too long without CS - feeling the shakes of cold turkey already, and it's only been a few days

I'll see if I can be arsed to wade through it and get back in the scrum - Not that any of you want me back anyway.......

I told a mate of mine that CS went 1.6 last night. He'd kinda drifted over to MOH and so wasn't up to speed on CS.

So about 8pm he grabbed the 382mb file of a mirror. The file was downloaded by 10pm and he closed down ALL his running applications (did you?) and installed Steam. Thirty minutes later he was on a server checking out the new guns n stuff.

He runs a game server on his ADSl line and so dumped MOH and installed the Steam server files (windows version). The 12mb download took about 30 minutes and although he can't use Admin Mod anymore his server was up and running and full of bods by midnight lst night.

Makes ya sick eh
