Quote from: no peanuts;291308I'm sure some of the guys at UNI will have similar speeds...Carr0t you listening? :norty:

I've never trusted the results these Speedtest sites give, generally because they are more likely to be congested or having bandwidth issues than me when i'm at work, or the holdup will be somewhere on the path between us but not actually under either of our control (Aah, the joys of the Internet). Hence I hit up the same server 3 or 4 times and get about the same result each time, but if I hit up different servers I get wildly differing results:

The same server Nuts tested against:

The server recommended for me:

A few others:

And speed.io (No way in hell is that all I get in either direction. I get 30Mega*Bytes* a second pulling patches from MS and Linux Distros) and I upload at about the same to a mate's colo in Manchester:

Students on our residence network should get roughly similar results, so if any of them ever have high latency in WoW it's probably cos i've broken something ;)

Mal: Define interesting...

Quote from: Penfold;291320Why can't we set up our own ISP?

Seriously, I'm sure there's enough talent and skills here to set up an ISP aimed at gamers for instance.

I Like it!  dMi (Dead Men ISP)

Start Folding and get yourself one of those nice new badge thingies, it\'s a good cause.  Check out the stats
