Steam doesn't remember my password between re-boots.
Whenever I start Steam for the first time after powering up my PC it prompts for my password but it does remember the account name.
Then if I stop and restart Steam it works fine, and yes I do have the remember me on this PC box ticked.

Any suggestions?
I was toying with a BLOB file delete but if it works after stopping it and starting it then the information must be in there for it to work the second and subsequent times. :g:
I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.

Could be a borked registry key?

A re-install of Steam is probably your best option.

Nothing to do with the Setting "don't save account credentials on this computer" being ticked is it? It shouldn't be.

What OS is this on?

Seems to be a long thread on steampowered forums relating to this.

Something I thought of and it looks like a couple of people have tried it and worked is to change user to another steam account.  Not sure yet what they did (i.e. did they restart PC into this other account and then restart to go back into their original account? Not sure).

The other solution could be to try the BETA version of the client.

Oh and one more thing, there is a Valve guy on that thread above (last post as I read it this morning called RichKaethler).  Apparently he's suggesting to PM him though I'm not sure what to PM (you need to read the thread I guess).

The fix is to install the beta client, apparently.
Next question is where do I find this client?
