After a couple of evenings where we've drifted I wanted to get something planned for Tuesday.

We have two missions that I think we can improve on.

There's;

Hunt Waldo, which has a lot of armour and will require people to stick with the team and get things completed.

Silent Wind - Which is relatively easy with unlimited respawns.

Hijack - Which I think we can do more efficiently with some patience and planning (hopefully no deaths!)

And the Morning Star missions, which are dying to be done better.

Can you post if you are likely to be online so I can get a gauge of experience and numbers so we can pick wisely?

At the moment we are starting well but then fragmenting as people die. The 'war' last night was awful for me, but again shows potential. I'm determined that this game has barrel loads of potential, but we need to get the missions right.

I'll be a maybe. I'll know better tonight or tomorow.
I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.

Liberator

And you'll definitely know more the day after tomorrow.

I should be around.

depending on what time me new bits turn up, i may grace you with my presence :flirty:

Right, with the low numbers, I suggest Hijack.

Let's keep the respawning to a minimum and make sure we're all together planning wise. I want to get the actual 'hijack' piece right. Clean hits and then pinning them down.

Maybe a couple near the opposite hill sweeping up the late comers from the camp or the patrols.

From there, an assault up the hill to the camp, but again a little more controlled, then into the airport, clearing out the camp on the way to prevent being flanked. If we can attack both ends of the airport AND clear the gatehouse we should be able to minimise casualties.

All very serious I know, but I really enjoy the times where you stay alive for longer periods whilst bullets whistle about.

Squad Leader will be OB or Del if he's back....OB as he hasn't had a go yet, Del because he needs an incentive to get his gear working and then he can stop reading all my posts :)

Likely as not - I ain't gonna make it. I have a Fibre Optics exam tomorrow which I've found out I really don't know enough of. Quite how proving a formula to calculate gain in a Fabry-Perot resonator helps anyone I don't know, but hey, probs won't be there, if I'm lucky I'll get on about 9pm...

We seemed to do spectacularly badly on hijack, has it been updated?
There seemed to be far more patrols etc about, although a personal kill tally of nearly 30 on our final attempt made it all worthwhile! Admittedly our allocation of manpower to tasks wasn't great, but even so, we were getting nailed! Those bloody peasants with their hunting rifles....

Good, if a little underwhelming in terms of results, games last night.

I think we are getting to the point where we're seeing the respawns as failures, which is fantastic for me. Perhaps we should focus on maps without and with only revive? I'm happy to focus on this and the existing maps if everyone concurs. Once we figure out the bloody commanding we'll be fine. Tacticsboard perhaps, but I'd rather use the ingame stuff where at all possible.

On top of that, we still can't do this one (Hijack) well and I think we're getting hit by complacency, which in this game is not something that works.

Really enjoyed last night. Had a nice heart racing moment crawling up behind the BTR with my satchels, proving beyond all doubt that lack of rockets and toys doesn't mean we can't complete the mission.

The fact that some fetid little git sniping from the roof of a building disabled our chopper (and only means of escape) just goes to show how much we need to be sure of things.

Cheers gents

(oh and hurry up Del, the command spot is still warm and a little damp as we all failed miserably last night.

Unlucky mate. Heal quickly and use gaming as part of your physio routine :)
