Server files now available via Steam tools :)

A steam restart is needed to see them.

They are listed as Sniper Elite V2 Dedicated Server around 5gb to download, it is not necessary to own sniper elite to download the server files.

Server installs but fails to run. Information is still sketchy e.g. no info found on what ports need to be opened. I'll try again tomorrow.

Thanks for trying OldBloke, did the install from tools work?

As now we can now install both from hlds and within steam tools.

The install using the hldsupdate tool is broken ...

QuoteHi guys, we believe there to be an issue with the HLDS Update Tool configuration for SEV2 and we recommend downloading the server files through the steam client until this is resolved.

I'm going to install from Steam on my local box then upload the files to our server (Steam isn't installed on the server).

Any luck Oldie? Appreciate you trying mate :)

How difficult would it be to get a CoD4 server up and running?
I think we could have some fun.
Lots of peeps have been saying lately that they'd like to play CoD4 again, and I'd like to have a go at reviving it.
It's way better than BO, and still has a following.
What do you think?

Still no joy I'm afraid

The hldsupdatetool method doesn't install all the necessary files. This has been recognised as an issue by the developers but still isn't fixed. I've tried to install the server files locally using via my Steam account. This always fails with an error saying the Steam servers are too busy - which is crap as I've tried it at all times of the day/night.

I'd appreciate someone else trying the Steam route to make sure it's not my install that's b0rked.

Could be done fairly easily I reckon. Want me to do it?

Not just you same issue here.

Checked steam forums no mention of it there.

Have emailed rebellion awaiting a response.

I am downloading it now!

Email from rebellion for your reference:

QuoteHello Scott,

We've had a few people reporting the same problem as you and we're  looking in to it. At the moment we think it's just because the Valve  servers were busy and it should have cleared up now- are you still  having problems?

     Hi,

I and all members of my community are unable to download sniper v2 dedicated server files.

The error received is the steam servers are currently too busy to handle your request please try again in a few minutes.

We have been trying for several days but still no joy.

    regards,
