Enjoyed leading (well, sort of) this map tonight.
2.5 hours of fun.

We did well to all arrive at the end without too much reviving and very little, if any respawning.

I know it's not finished and needs some work, but it's great fun.

Cheers all, and thanks Lib:D

Thankfully, I've now fixed the problems with task objectives not being propagated across all players, so it was slightly less chaotic last night.

Because we all took a safer route, helped by knowing the task and having a waypoint marker and we monitored the helicopter patrol patterns, I think it worked quite well last night.

It got quite late for some and so we didn't finish it, but I'm sure the extraction code should now work as well.

So it now has.....

Base assault
Sabotage
Ambush
Town Clearance
Mountain Warfare

I removed the ability to directly assault the town without destroying the radar first because earlier play testing showed that it was just an excuse for the frag hunters to open fire before the squad leader said and it degraded into everyone playing their own game and spoiling the mission. Which wasn't nice to see after spending the time to make it enjoyable.

I still have other plans for the mission, but they won't be to make it much longer, just to add extra risk and change the importance of events and allow failure.

Like I did with Scud Base.

Any comments?

Too bloody right ...

Excellent mission made even more impressive when considering how short a time you've been doing this mission designing mallarky. Top job and very much appreciated :thumb:

I think I must concur with the right honorable gentleman above.
Good job Lib and it's nice to have a map, nay dare I say campaign, that is playable, challenging, interesting and flows.
Randomness in how some events play out will make this one that we can play again and again and again.
Trying to get it down to 1.5 hours is going to be a challenge. :D
I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.

I managed to play this last week. Hopefully Ill get time in the next few days to play again. Is there any chance someone could rustle up a brief overview of the map/mission. This could be useful for all sorts of reasons. Including enticing more people to buy AO! And for those of us who arrive halfway through the map.

Post it on Armaholic, Lib. It deserves to appreciated by a wider audience.
