bc2 full of cheaters

just been on a server and i was being gunned down from halfway across the map, i'd call that cheating would'nt u?

Apparently (according to another thread) there have been a load of bans for an aimbot recently. One must have just got released or something...I hope it will die down. This wouldn't happen on a VAC server, punkbuster is the Norton Anti-Virus of the anticheat community. Slow, bulky, doesn't actually stop what it needs to half the time, and more often that not it's stopping legitimate players. I hope MoH doesn't use it.

What map? And what weapon?

I know that from half way accross the map, if you have been spotted by a sniper that I can easily put rounds on you with an m16 if the triangle is active.

Yes I've killed snipers with the six shot handgun on Atacama Desert, I was half way between C and B saw a few shots ringing out at me, ran to the Blue cargo crate at B, spotted him in the A base, front building on left in top window, spot him so I can keep tabs at where he is (and makes it easier to aim at) fired about 3/4 shots, final one a headshot and the sniper was dead

Basically if you can see someone you can kill them. If I had been using a neostat (sp? bullpup shotgun) with the right add ons it could have been a one shot kill.

I agree with Dewey.

However unrealistic it is, it can be done.

Our cheat detection in Wolfcon is high up (believe 70%). I will be looking at PB Ban Streaming etc. which can be managed in the front end.

Good point Ninja - obviously a lot of the guns, range and damage in BC2 isn't realistic, I mean I've been taken out by the 870CS shotgun from massive distances, but with the long range shells in it... its like a sniper rifle.

Blunt - you think thats bad - theres a reason Magnus and Paddy like the Ns2000- its ridiculously deadly and powerful, one shot sniper kills from ridiculous ranges.

Me I prefer my kills close up - so I go for the Saiga with 12 rounds - it can decimate a squad.

I think if you begin with restrict certain weapons, then where is the end doing this?
For me as i get killed by the NS2000, i pick next round the snipergun and try to take the person out.
A game like BC2 i think you cant ban any weapon, but that are my thoughts bout it.

Rather than banning weapons, why not practice and learn how to use them - this also helps you play better against them and find their weaknesses. The NS2000 for example isn't very good close up.

Snipers should be stabbed or NS2000ed the only other course of action is to ban them.

That is true - Recon who just sit for the entire game miles from anywhere (including their base) deserve to be shot, I have been know to highlight snipers on my own side who do this - they perform no useful function...

Recons with shotties however are positive lovely

and should be encouraged.
