I think we have a good selection of games to play.. My only genuine concern at this point is BF2.

Does anyone have this working and installed on a W7 machine?

t's going to be impossible to be sure absolutely everyone has a copy of all the games unless we stick to CS: Source and it's mods. So I don't think it's an issue if we play one game that a few people may not have. Respectfully if it 's that important to someone, and bearing in mind they're coming to a LAN with all the associated costs etc, they're not exactly skint and can most likely shell out a few quid for the game.

BF2 confirmed running on windows 7 machine.

However, you need to install patch 1.41 first before 1.50.

If you try and install the full 1.50 patch first an error shows saying a newer version is already installed.

That means.

Install game (5-10 mins)
Patch 1.41 (5-15 mins) 500 meg
Patch 1.50 (5-10 mins) 2.5gb

Is this too long?

It would help if we could get the patches uploaded to our webserver - then we can give attendees a download link & instructions to get them patched up in advance of the LAN.

Thanks Ghosty for testing it out. I'm hoping to have a server for us to test play on soon.

Does anyone have a demo version and (achem) demo keys for those that don't have the original?

Update: BF2 crashes all over the place on W7 x64, so you might want to re-consider this one.

You need to install it in the correct sequence. Lib spent many happy hours testing this yesterday while he was 'working'.
Install BF2, install BF2 Special Forces (if you have it). Start the game, Stop the game. Patch to 1.41, Start the game , stop the game. Patch to 1.50. Play the game.
