I was just zapping through some channels and found out Eurosport was showing  CounterStrike 1.6 tournamentfinales, a drivergame (forgot which one). Good fun to see it on Eurosports.

[QUOTE]Cheesepuff...A cyborg is sent from the future on a deadly mission. He has to kill Ninja_Freak, a young Man whose life will have a great significance in years to come.Ninja has only one protector - DuVeL - also sent from the future. The Terminator uses his exceptional intelligence and strength to find Ninja_Freak & attempt to terminate him.

There is much irony in this series as its sponsored by Intel and has I7 advertised all over the place with the slogan "I7, the game changer". the Irony comes because the games they are playing such as CS 1.6 are so old that you would have enough grunt to run them on a mobile phone.

Would be nice if competitive gaming moved into the current and didn't live in the past. Starcraft 2 seems to be the only game in the "New ERA" that can be played competitively.

We will slowly see a decline in LAN enabled games anyway due to piracy protection, so is this the end of the LAN competitions?
