Now this is looking seriously nice.  Samsung appear to be on a rich vein of product at the moment.  No confirmed launch date yet, but Vodaphone did whisper May 18th by accident.

I suspect it won't be cheap. I'm also not that impressed with Samsung's way of adding their own bits and bobs to the OS. My friend has a Galaxy smartphone and apart from looking to iPhoney (as discussed elsewhere) it seems to be a bit too full of Samsung bloat. However I imagine it won't be that hard to root and install a stock Honeycomb.

I'm still trying to work out why I'd want one over my Samsung Netbook. Point taken of course about TL's need for a work tool rather than another laptop.

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

The rumours I have heard are that it will be cheaper than the iPad2.  If it is, then my wallet might take a very quick hammering.

I don't like the samsung software on the galaxy s, but I'm sure it's fairly easy to fix. The thing that puts me off more if that the Samsung tabs are significantly more expensive than the ipad which now sells for around £330 since the launch of the ipad 2 without offering anything much for the price. I don't expect the 10" version to be cheaper than the 7" currently is, so I think it's too expensive.
Still vaguely tempted by the Eee Transformer, but even that seems a bit expensive vs the ipad.

Yes but the Tab 10.1 is coming out with a vanilla Android, no Samsung stuff on it at all.  Apparently Google is pushing suppliers to provide the tablet in vanilla and this is why several of the newer ones are coming with a plain vanilla Honeycomb flavour.

Re the price, agreed.  however the latest info is that it will be cheaper than the iPad2.  Apparently Samsung are taking the fight to Apple and will price to beat them, so I suspect the market price of several tablets will drop as a result (including that of the old/current Tab).  At least, that's what I am reading on the various websites that have gathered some info on this tablet and it's smaller 8.9" variant.

I'm reading conflicting reports about what is added.  I am finding some sites saying they are now pushing to a standard Honeycomb, others saying Honeycomb has the TouchWiz 4.0 UX UI overlaid on it.  Part of the confusion I think comes from the 2 version of the 10.1, the original 10.1 (10.9mm thick, 3-megapixel forward-facing camera and now called the 10.1v - allegedly being sold via Vodaphone exclusively) and the new & improved 10.1 (8.9mm thick and with an 8-megapixel forward-facing camera).

The majority of the sites, after checking carefully *which* 10.1 they were reviewing, had:

10.1v - running a vanilla Honeycomb
10.1 - running Honeycomb with Samsung's TouchWiz 4.0 UX overlay.

The iPad2 launch caused the redesign and the lowering of the price, allegedly.  Good news for consumers I guess.
