Short fight tactics, will be updated once live versions appear...

-Dont run in to traps. Kite the dogs in to them. Immolation for damage, crystal for resetting dog buff stacks/resetting tank debuffs.
-Rotate tanks to avoid too many bleed debuff stacks.
-Hit Rageface for 30k+ single hit dmg when he uses Face Rage on someone. Immolation trap debuff helps.
-Dont get hit by spear or by the spears lava waves.
-Kill dogs before Shannox reaches 30%
-Burn after dogs die to prevent too many spear stacks.

Here's a note. The thing they say about being able to get riplimb far enough away the spear thing doesn;t ebcome a problem? It's ficed. get the dogs too far away from teh boss and he gets a buff.

Here's a guide I'm finding quite useful: http://www.icy-veins.com/shannox-detailed-strategy

Last nights fight. The biggest problem for the tanks is Jagged Tear and handling it. The tac we used, the idea is to tank Riplimb away from the boss and then try to get him to trigger a crystal trap once the spear has been thrown. This didn;t work too well. I did experiment. Here's my idea's:

Riplimb tank takes Riplimb 30-40 yards from boss (check range on Seperation Anxiety) holds him there until spear is cast. When spear is cast then the Riplimb tanks legs it back to the Shan tank, dragging Riplimb as far away from the spear as possible. (ideally over a hunter slow trap/mushrooms/crystal trap) Then once Rip has got the spear, the tank heads back to max range. If done right then the time between the spear being thrown and Riplimb returning it to Shann is over 30 seconds and the stacking debuff has dropped. For the Shannox tank this isn;t a stand still fight either. You have to keep an eye out for the big red circle on the ground (which donates spear throw) and try to get a crystal trap between the circle and the boss. This means that Riplimb should run over it on his way back.

Now if this fails once it isn;t a raid wiper as tank can take up to 10 stacks without being in trouble, but 10 stacks reaches the desperate healing stage.

I have to say I tihnk the traps are going to prove the hardest bit of this fight. It's very easy not to notice them with everything else going on, they look like normal hunter traps. I noticed that someone in the raid had a nice addon announcing the traps on them which made things alot easier. If that person could reveal the addon I would appreciate it.

Any thoughts?

What seems to be a successful tactic atm:

1. Start the pull, but put a 55-60 yard separation on Shannox and Riplimb. Exceed 60 yards and they both enrage.

2. Kill Rageface first. The Shannox tank gets hit much harder as a result, but it's easier to deal with that than whatever Rageface will dish out.

3. AFter Ragefce dies, melee go to Shannox while ranged go to Riplimb.

4. When Shannox throws his spear, the Riplimb tank immediately runs towards Shannox. This causes the spear and Riplimb to be 30 yards apart when the spear lands, so Riplimb has to run 30 yards just to get to the spear, then another 60 yards to get back to Shannox. If you can slow Riplimb, or even get him in a crystal trap in the path he takes to run to the spear and back, will give both tanks enough time to lose their debuffs. In the event that the Shannox tank doesn't lose his debuff completely, he should still be able to survive until the next spear throw

5. DPS Shannox down to 35%, then DPS Riplimb down to death, then kill Riplimb, pop Lust and cooldowns, and kill Shannox.

Edit: This was posted before we tried it like this.

Melee DPS point of view:

I don't have much to say here.... i fell almost asleep during this fight as for me as melee dps it was freaking boring... and i aint used to easy fights just to say....

But here is what i did:

You first wait 10/15 secs for the tank to have agro (boss aint tauntable) then just

NUKE the CRAP out of the boss during the whole fight:devil: You just have to stay out of stuff on the ground and call out on TS if there is a CRYSTAL trap near you.

Traps and fire are bad things to stay in so stay out of them...  Also a doggy can attack you and it will hurt! so save some little cd's for that if you can and have them.

Sometimes you have a raider that fell indeed asleep and walked into a crystal trap and you yes you have to free that sleepy person, so also keep a lookout for that.

For the rest make sure your big dps boosts are ready for the last phase as you will need it at that point.

So just nuke the boss the whole time and watch out for stuff on the ground...

**for the ferals among us**

Damn easy just nuke the boss, when you have a full rotation going on use beserk when avail. I used it 2 times in a try and had it avail again for last phase. For the rest use barskin for when that dog is attacking you.
Also use your innervate as much as possible on any healer.

Pretty much what slush said below me, with some more notes:
-Do not stand on crap on the floor, but use it at your own advantage.
-In the start usually it takes a bit more time for the dps to get rageface out of his designated target, so be prepared to assign 2 healers on the job while keeping an eye on both tanks (raid should be relatively safe).
-Do not stand on crap on the floor, but use it at your own advantage.
-We were running with using the Beacon of Light on Shannox's tank and helping slush on with the Rageface's targets, slush on the raid with prio on the rageface targets, and jas on riplimb's tank and dropping an hot or two around in the spare time.
-Do not stand on crap on the floor, but use it at your own advantage.
-In the last phase it gets quite messy healing wise, becouse both tanks are gonna taking bigger hits, requiring even more attention. However if you follow slush's suggestion (kill rageface first) you will not have to worry about rageface's bursts anymore.
-Did i mention it's important to avoid standing on crap on the floor but use it at your own advantage?

Hope this helps! :D

We created 3 MT spots with raid markers.  Let's call them 1-2-3.
MT took boss to the corner 1 and raid stood between corners 1 & 3.
This means traps are dropped between corners 1 & 3 for use by OT.
Trigger for moving to a new corner was when too many Immo Traps were on the ground (immo traps hitting dog causes a debuff and crystal trap then does not work, so when it is busy you need a clear space where dog will not get hit by untriggered traps)
OT is the one who calls the move to new corners as he is the one who can see how busy the floor is!
At corner switch we moved:
-MT from 1 to 2
-raid from between 1-3 to between 1-2.
After the move everyone is back in fresh space again and it is easier to kite dog through traps again withouth picking up an inadvertent trap & triggering the debuff.

The *real* stupid part is when the raid leader gets the transition calls wrong (yes, I'm flagellating myself right now as I type).

DPS all burn Rage down and kill.
Then burn boss down to 35%.
Now kill Rip.
Then kill boss.

My error was misjudging the dps we had on boss and the boss hit 30% (ie Phase 2) with about 1m HP left on Rip.  As a result, the boss thermo-nuked our tanks then gently raped our raid into oblivion.  Rohipnol would have been kinder.  Other than that it was going to be a kill that try, it was going real smooth.  Raidwall rotation at end as normal.

Stacks of Jagged tear dropped off nicely by tanking riplimb next to a crystal trap and moving him into it as the spear is cast.

Wikipedia: Flagellation or flogging is the act of methodically beating or whipping (Latin flagellum, "whip") the human body. Specialised implements for it include rods, switches, the cat o' nine tails and the sjambok. Typically, flogging is imposed on an unwilling subject as a punishment; however, it can also be submitted to willingly, or performed on oneself, in religious or sadomasochistic contexts.

Relax, sister. We will take him down on thursday. :-) Thanks for all the mental images.

Remember the Da vinci Code movie? There was a flagellant called Silas. Citation below from Wikipedia.

"Silas is an albino numerary of the Catholic organization Opus Dei, who practices severe corporal mortification (he is seen using a metal cilice and flogging himself)"

Here you go Tea, maybe a new "alter ego"!?

Logs are from last night, sorry for the delay.

We clearly need to work up something different for P2.  Let's get out there onto the forums and gather what info we need.  Something I remembered too late was a raidwall rotation like the one we used for Beth.  Too much other stuff going on and it slipped my mind, but as we missed by a mere 1m HP I reckon that might be enough on its own.  It would be nice to get P2 under tighter control than that though.

Going through the logs at the moment:

First thing to notice is that we did eventually get a handle on 'avoid the trap' thing.  When we did we got consistent P2 tries.

Second thing to notice is that our raid dps was seriously poor and this is why we hit P2 with about 8 mins gone.  Fight should take 7 mins 30 or so roughly and we're 15k dps down on average.
