Dr Sadako

I got really fed up last night with A Twig on de_train. If the map change hadn't come up I would have kicked him. A Twig joined CT but repeatedly did not respond to backup calls or calls that the bomb was down. The last round the bomb was down on the ramp at "1" close to CT spawn and there were only 2 CTs left. DuVeL made it clear that the bomb was down repeatedly and I can't see how anyone could have missed his repeated voicecomms. At that time Twig went up to the snipertower with a scout and stayed there and left DuVeL alone to guard the bomb against 2 Ts.  <_<

Throughout the entire map he was fraghunting or messing about with Para. Imo he was out of line regarding TCS in most respects. I managed to get a Rcon say just before match change with "help your team Twig or I will kick you". I didn't get a response to that.

So ... what to do?

I guess I don't have to add that he regularly strays off scouting without telling his team.

i say just kick i have had the same problems once with twig.....its like a cancer once one runs off alone other (new players) tend to copy...make it hard work for anyone trying to hold the team together

if u dont wanna be so harsh a PM telling him he will be kicked/banned if he is not playing in a team manner and he is now being monitored for disruptive play

Good idea JAS.  I'll send him a PM tonight asking for an improvement.

QuoteHi Twig

The Admins have had a few comments coming back about you recently, so we're feeding them back to you - forewarned is forearmed etc. In summary the comments said that you were forgetting you were part of a team, often going off to do your own thing. Some examples were given: failing to come to your team mates' assistance when the bomb was down, the other was your tendency to go solo and disappear off to do your own thing without agreeing it as part of the plan.

As you know, we take the quality of our team play very seriously here, so if the comments we received contained a degree of truth, we'd like to make the assumption that these were accidental and momentary lapses in your concentration!

If the comments were untrue, then please accept our apologies.

Please be aware that as this has been raised at Admin level, all Admins and Server Admins know about it and will receive a copy of this message. In the short-term this will undoubtedly mean you will be watched more carefully than you might have been in the past. This will however pass and I am sure that if the comments were untrue then you will have no problem 'being watched'.

If you feel the need to discuss this message then please feel free to contact me. Otherwise, I look forward to killing you on the server ;)

Regards.

Ok maybe I should clear some things up. Firstly I have been playing no differently to the way I have always played PCS/TCS. Whether I have always been in error I do not know.

The particular incident the other night was on de_train and I did not go to aid my teammates on three seperate occasions. The reasons for this are as follows:

1) On previous attempts to go and help inside from my normal position at platform 6 I was repeatedly shot by those coming round behind me. Therefore for the next few rounds I remained in position and picked off these flankers and after a while they stopped coming. That was why I did not help. The fact we still won despite my percieved not helping, and that my decision may have infact been the best tactical one, and I did inform my teamates what and why I was acting like I was at each occasion has seemingly been overlooked. Ask DuVeL for confirmation on my repeated shots in the back, normally from JB, as it became a running joke...

2) After the flankers stopped coming I went back to the more orthodox method of going to aid my team once the bomb was down. However again we were picked off and the bomb was stolen by T's coming from different directions so I took up a different position to cover these angles.

3) Early on I had bought a Scout and was for once proving quite handy with it. I had no particular desire to waste my hard-earned cash and drop it and buy a new gun. As I was surviving my still having a Scout and my degree of success with it thus pre-empted going to some sort of sniping position. Obviously being thus armed entails some degree of caution when moving about so I was often slower to respond simply as I was more cautious.

My play was obviously not appreciated though and I recieved an admin message instructing me to "Help my teamates." I did not have the time to question this as it was near the end of the map, and I simply had not the energy to argue, as at the end of the day I was playing to relax and chill out so I just let it pass and ran around and died lots like I normally do and everyone seemed a lot happier.

On Aztec a lone bridge sniper to distract/thin numbers is an effective and oft-used tactic and as I was doin quite well with the Scout I took up this position. If my teamates did come my way I moved and rushed with them and made full efforts to support them. No-one at the time questioned it or asked me to do something different so I carried on. When I died I picked up an AK and rushed like everyone else and then when we died lots and it was clear rushing want working we returned to a thinning out strategy and I carried on as I was on the bridge and in the water below it.

I do therefore feel that these comments (I think accusations is the wrong word in this case) are a little unfair. From those on the opposing viewpoint - unable to hear my voice comms - it may have seemed like I was simply frag hunting however those people - not being aware of the full situation - are in fact in no position to judge I feel. If it was a teamate that pointed this out then I obviously did not make myself clear enough on the voice comms - but the fact that none of my teammates mentioned this over the comms seems to bely this argument.

I do apologise for any loss of enjoyment caused to any other players who I deprived of frags by protecting my team, and loss of enjoyment to my team who still won overall by a fairly large margin, and I sincerely hope that my actions will not be percieved in this way in the future.

Right I'm off to a public server for now to cool off a bit, I apologise for the length of this rant and if it does become a little vitriolic at times but I hope I have made my point clear...

Stryker

I think the only thing here is lack of communication.  If twiggy had just said to his teammates why he was doing what he did they would be happy.  If twig remedies this he should be ok as a voice message only take a few seconds.

OldBloke

I think he's just explained frag-hunting very well.

With a bomb down and his teammate asking for backup his job was to supply it. Being on the other side of the map hoping to pick off the flankers is frag hunting.

If he put as much effort in his teamplay as he has in the reply we would be onto a winner

lets see if it has done the trick  :coolio:

The only thing he did was waiting for flankers to pick off ...

OB and JAS are on the spot! :lmfao:
