Ok ive just updated but found i couldnt connect to any servers.

INVALID STEAM TICKET USERID or something similar.

Problem solved by logging  out of STEAM and then logging back in.

Hope this helps if anyone else is struggling.

But i got 3 or 4 updates today from steam :(

I've been stuck on the dreaded 30% mark for 20 mins. Take alook at the Steam forums. Lots of disgruntled Steamsters out there. Might be another b0rked update.

Try a restart. Usually helps when it gets stuck there.

... and also do not use any other internet applications at the same time. It seems like it gets stuck more easy if you do.

Downtime Complete; Steam Update Released

The Steam scheduled downtime and maintenance has been completed. We have also released a small Steam update. Note that there is currently an issue preventing many of our users from connecting to game servers (User ID Ticket Error 34). A fix will for this problem will be released momentarily


my understanding of momentarily was quite soon  :(    steam guys use a different time scale to the rest of us i think :(

Can't get on server. My Steaming ticket's damp or sumfink.

What I had to do ...

Go to Steam settings.

Logout.

Close Steam.

Start Steam.

Login.

Finally got the update downloaded and now I keep getting ticket violations and I've tried stopping and starting and re-booting and stopping and starting and stopping and re-booting and starting and........................ and I still get 'kin' ticket errors!!!! Argggghhhhhhhhhhhhh! :angry:  :angry:  :angry:  :angry:
Anyone have any suggestions? (sensible ones please)
I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.

Maybe just maybe if you lot had actually read the original post on this topic you might have saved yourself a wee bit of bother it does mention that I add to LOG OUT of steam and LOGIN again to get it to work.
