I've been listening to the new Metallica album this morning, it is rather good. Observe:

I jest! It's probably the best they've recorded since ...And Justice For All:

But this is better!   Eminem (ASL) videos for the hearing impaired.  It's actually damn good and worth the watch, it seems to add some additional emotion to the tracks.

Today I've been listening to a prog metal, especially Dream Theater.

That led me back to some dark but brilliant Norwegian rock.

Since it's still christmas I was listening through the Bad Religion christmas album released a couple of years ago. A decent one, no mockery, just a punk take on the classics.
Hidden as a bonus track was a mix of their arguably biggest hit, American Jesus. Found the video for that, and it is in the customary horrible Epitaph music video upload quality.

Still, a decent song.

Heard this on RadioParadise a few days ago and it's now a firm favourite. The track is off the album Undercurrent which ought to be listened to on decent cans as the acoustic guitar/mandolin combo is so good.

Here, though, is an acoustic version of 'House of Mercy' by Sarah Jarosz. Enjoy the folky-bluegrass chill.

One of my favorite guitarists, singers and songwriters doing the obvious, but his own version, complete with crazy high vocals and re-tuning during the song. (Roy's lad)

Really into Agnes Obel's album 'Aventine'. So here's one for my fellow lovers of good melodies.

Very nice. Pretty delicate sound.

There is an artist from New Zealand, Nadia Reid who is from a similar genre. Listen to Formation is very subtle and melodic.
