So I have had fellowes p-45 cross-cut for around 3 years and its finally packed up.

Got it for £15 rrp was £35 at that time.

Rather than going out and buying a 1 year wonder thought i'd ask if anyone has bought a good one that has lasted?

After something that is cross-cut for security with credit card cutting preferred.

Build quality needs to be sound as the p-45 lost a plastic parting tooth at the exit point meaning paper kept getting jammed in the spinning cogs.

I'd say shredding is about 5-15 sheets a week with it usually being done when we have time.

Thanks,

i purchased a new fellowes shredder about 9 months ago for work, as we had 500-600 old cd backups which needed to die... after it was done i purchased it formyself, and its handling everything i throw at it

Personally I think crosscut one are better. I also wanted one which would shred cards and cds.

My current office one is a

http://www.shreddingmachines.co.uk/shredders.asp?id=1066&cat=Swordfish-1000XCD-Shredder  but I appreciate this may be a little heavy duty for you.

My home Shredder is a http://www.amazon.co.uk/HSM-X5-Cross-Cut-Shredder/dp/B000IYMQ9G which does work well but not for CD's.

When researching them Swordfish seemed to be a well  recommended make.

How many credit cards per week do you need to shred GM?  :P

I've been running something similar to these for the past few years and it works really well.   More than overkill for the little you want to do though.

Cheaper option might be to find a friend with a woodburning stove and go visit them once per week.  10-15 sheets is enough to start a fire.....

Staples are doing a Fellowes W11C Cross Cut Shredder for half-price if it helps.

Only one credit card a year :P but cutting it with scissors doesn't destroy it properly.

Gonna go with a fellowes p-48c after the further fellowes recommendations, thanks!

It's £33 at pcworld which is cheaper than everywhere else.

Toby's not going to be pleased that i have bought something from pcworld tho!
