Thought I'd start the debate going in a separate thread.

Dl was painless and pretty quick.
I've had a lot of trouble even connecting to servers (managed to get on 1 tonight)
Browser doesnt seem to find many servers (I don't know how many there are)

The game is very recognisable to anyone who played CSS, Once I've configured keys etc I should be a bit slicker.
Graphics don't seem very good (but it's beta) and hopefully they're dumbed down atm.

If I was going to make a modern version of CS, I would allow scoping/aiming down the sights and have the walk/sprint the other way about (you have to press to walk instead of press to sprint)
Every FPS nowadays has this and I miss it in CSGO.

I fully expect the CS purists to disagree with me, but that's what I think.

Please post your thoughts below.

The server issue is a known bug and the devs are looking into it.

If they were to add ADS and sprinting it would no longer be CS. Movement and precise aiming has always been the core of CS. CS its different than other shooters and that's what makes it special. To take add ADS and sprinting would cause every old school player to take to the steam forums and the rage would be immeasurable.

The graphics are a bit muddy and indistinct, would prefer higher rez textures & a bit less glare. It makes it hard to pick out the enemy at long range which is a PITA.

But hey Beta is Beta and I'm well chuffed I got into the Beta :yahoo:
it\'s not my fault if every one runs into my sights :D:byebye::roflmao:

I've had it for a few months.

Haven't really had a go as I have been a bit busy with work but overall its pretty cool.

What I am truly waiting for is the server files as currently it seems to be a peer to peer/ lobby kind of system.

Hopefully they will release these as this is what we really need.

I will try and get a gathering of us to give it a go at some point before the LAN if possible.

Fascinating "Heat Map" showing where the most bullets are fired.
I don't know if more are available for public viewing, but it would be good to see other maps too.

I think one of our main cripes with CSS when we stopped fully supporting it was the age of the game.

This one brings some more hard hitting action especially with demolition but I think it might be a bit harder to enforce our boundary rules.

The maps are smaller and the gameplay is more intense with games being far shorter. Many of us migrated away as it was cod or BF but it does do justice to the original in many ways!

Basically its a hard hitting and knitty gritty version of CS (like what daniel craig did for James Bond GO does for CS) the graphics aren't mouth watering and some levels are reused from L4D/ CS with little if not any adjustment however providing we can get our own server running I think it will be great addition and get some new blood into the community.

We'll keep testing/ keep you all updated.

I'll reserve judgement until I play it, but it'll need to be something special - CS has felt like a tired formula for some time.
