At the time of writing we have the following Admin count:

Admins X 4 (Dogmeat, OldBloke, Stryker and TeaLeaf)
dMw Admins X 6 (Albert, Fatbob, Gandy, JAS, Sadako and Smite)
TCS Admins X 5 (Blueball, Doorman, Slowhand, Smilodon and Squ0nk)

Therefore we have a possible 15 votes for each applicant.

TL and I have decided that a successful applicant will need to attract 8 'YES' votes. If an applicant attracts a large number of null votes then we will use our discretion in arriving at a decision.

TeaLeaf and I have monitored the posts you've made and noted the concerns raised and it's obvious that the voting process for Bravo membership needs to be clarified and tweaked. This is just the normal evolution of a process and will probably need tweaking again at some stage in the future.

So to start with clarification:

A good Bravo applicant is someone who has a track record on our servers and has a 'clean record'.  They should be judged purely on their merits as an Alpha, not on their potential as a Charlie.

Tweaking:

Taking into account non-activity, absences and null votes, setting the acceptance level at eight votes has meant that good Alphas (who would have got in under the criteria set out above) would be turned down. We are therefore lowering the level to six 'Yes' votes.

At the risk of stating the obvious, if they get 6 yes votes and 9 no votes I take it we don't accept them?

Sorry, I know it is a slightly inane comment but are we looking at purely 6 yesses or 6 yesses without too many no votes.

I think what I am saying in a not very clear fashion is "please clarify".

Sorry, long day and I'm very tired :(

I really must learn how to clarify ...  :)

They must also have a majority 'Yes' vote.

A 6/6 split will invoke the executive decision.

On this point ,and accepting that the TCS structure is am evolving thing, I would feel enclined to vote NO only if I had a strong reason to do so.

Applications will have read the Bravo requirements and have made a public statement to the admins (by way of their joining request) of their intention to embrace the TCS philosophy. Unless I have a clear  and complelling reason to think they won't/can't stick to their plan I shan't  NO vote them and only if I have never heard of them would I NULL vote them.

This all sound a bit like I'm moaning, but I think the system works well and I certainly appreciate the thought, planning and effort from TL & OB. Nice one  :)
