I noticed the dedicated server files were released yesterday, so we now have got a server up and running thanks to Whitey!

Server may be up and down due to tweaks of settings etc.

Still not had anything from Steam about beta access. So much for the pre-purchase benefit.

Edit: just spooted GM's post about 10.00am PST, so I guess it's another 2 hours before we can start the 3-4GB download.

I have to say, I am disappointed. The game appears to me to be Counterstrike:Source. Can you guys see any difference?

If its not broken dont fix it, the game was made just to reboot and its also being sold on consoles so while to us it might be the same game its not on other platforms but its great fun even if it is the same but with better graphics and new weapons

That is why it's Â£12. The game is an update rather than a brand new game. There are plenty of changes to the graphics, audio, level design, weapons, etc but the changes have left the gameplay very similar so it can still be used as a competition game.

Well, the whole beauty is that they've left the gameplay as is. If it's not broken, don't fix it!!

I believe this version has been created by those who loved the game, and it has been developed under close feedback from hardcore players from all versions of counterstrike. If they had changed anything, like adding healtpacks, call in airstrikes or ride tanks, it simply wouldn't be counterstrike no more, just "another" shooter. I like how the gungame version has been implemented as a standard now, and I hate the dissapearence of the scopes
