Blunts entry from status request shown above.

My issue is that when I asked for people to go to Homer to kick off a game Blunt said no (in humour I suppose which I do not have an issue with). One player moved across which made 2 on homer and 16 on MH (as someone else had joined MH). I then requested for 4 more to move to HOMER to which Blunt replied "I said no" and carried on his conversation on MH. HLSW log below:

I don't think we need this sort of attitude from players on the server. A warning shot from the Admins perhaps?

OldBloke

Gotta make sure it was Blunt. Him and Toxteth O'Grady share the PC.

However, we cannot force people to leave one server for another. It has to be voluntary.

I think we've all had the same ersult when trying to start a game on the other server, nobody moves, as OB says, its up to them if they want to and the last time I tried, everyone, including Admins said no I'm enjoying a game on MH and I was left waiting 20 minutes to get a game. So really, the words fart and thunder spring to mind.
On Blunt's comments, well I must say I've had worse abuse than a few nos, as MH is a voluntary pleasure, moving servers is also voluntary although it would be nice if a few more listened when we asked them to move.
I get your point BB and I don't think people staying put and not making another game is very sporting, but a "no"  :P  is better than a wtf, get lost, omfg, up yours fag comment.
Cheers, Bert

I agree we cannot force people but I found his manner rude and "not what we expect" for want of a better phrase especially the "I said no" part - that was completely uncalled for.

if an Admin asks people to volunteer to move in the interests of everybody's enjoyment then I do not see why they should have to put up with retorts like that.

Squonk

i agree it would be great if more peeps moved over  when asked to as i was sat on homer on sat night for 15mins and when i asked, oldie/tl and a couple of others came over

for the record i moved asap when i saw the admin say ""[BB] There are 2 on homer if a few of you want to make a game of it "
and then we ended up with a full server and the hook went dead

it just took me a while as i was eating :-)

Oh I couldn't agree more.

TeaLeaf

Moving from one server to another will inevitably have to remain voluntary and by nature, those more heavily involved with the community will be the ones prepared to move first.  However you are right in noting that the attitude should be correct.

I have no problem with sending an email to the offender, but as we do not know who it was then I will phrase it carefully.  I will just note that this is not the response that Admins expect - we treat members with respect and we ask for the same in return.

I'll post a copy up here later.

Hi Blunt

I had the below section of logs referred to me today by one of the Admins. I'm aware that Toxteth also uses your machine, so I have to be open to the fact that this may not have been you, but as it is your PC and your SteamID then the comments are relevant because if it was not you then someone is tarnishing your good name! These is the section of the logs to which I was referred (Admin comment in blue and your replies in red):

One of the things that we really try to do within the community is to treat all members with respect.  I am sure that you and I have both been on servers in the past where the Admin is a complete twat - their behaviour wrecks the atmosphere and the game.  This is why we insist that all of our Admins treat players with respect - we even set it out in our official Admin Standards.  But it is a double edged sword and we ask that players maintain certain standards too.

You are a respected and experienced TCS player and the example that you set when dealing with an Admin on the server may be copied by a less experienced and less knowledgeable player.   Whilst I accept that the comments could have been made in jest, the Admin in this case took exception to your rather curt responses.

So, if the above comments were made by you then please remember the example that you set to others and try to treat Admins with a bit of respect - none of us are paid and we are only trying to help!  If the comments weren't you then please forward this message to Toxteth (or whomever was using the computer at the time with your SteamID and name).  You can add a friendly server slap or two if you need to forward the message on! ;)

I hope you receive the message in the right spirit and I'll see you on the servers tonight, where I shall be doing my utmost to kill you (if you're on the other side that is!).

Regards.

I have to hand it to you TL. You really have a way with with words.

Nice email m8.

TeaLeaf

His reply - it sorts the problem and I have amended the header on this topic to Tox not Blunt.

QuoteHi TL

You're right to assume it was Tox.

and you're right to bring this to my attention.

He has been told  ...and asks me to pass on his apologies to the admin concerned.

He assures me that he was being jokey...but that it didn't come over in the right way.

he has a good sense of humour usually, as you may know, and he's not normally lippy.

I hope that this clears the matter up.

you don't normally let that stop you :P
