Finally got my Flight Stick working reliably. I have to say the docking station view and landing procedure is awesome. I really didn't take time to look into the layout and the detail before as I was just trying not to crash because of my constantly rolling ship. The different things going on around you in the space station hanger is amazing. vehicles driving around the walls, salvage even floating around waiting to be picked up.

I'm becoming a dab hand at navigating the ship menu controls but haven't quite got the hang of the best way to route power around the systems in the ship depending on ho I'm doing in battle.

I assume routing to weapons makes them recharge faster, to engines helps in moving and systems for repairing and recovery?

I now need to work out how to jump to another station to sell my meagre 4 units of grain! (wow I hear you say!).

I'm looking forward to that aspect. Trading runs in a large ship, or exploring uncharted areas, with an escort could be interesting. Even using an apparently lone Hauler as pirate bait....

To people that are thinking about Elite, I was thinking of writing something up, but when I found this in the ED forums I decided to steal it from a user there as it is very informative and I could not write it as good:

There is no need to buy Premium Beta for $150 if financial situation does not allow it. PB will probably end in about 2 months. Standard Beta is $75 and presumably should be released in August and if you pre-order the game now for $50 you can participate in Gamma, which will be a feature complete game and there are no resets planned after Gamma is released (well, unless major bugs are found). Hopefully Gamma will be released in September. Expansion pass costs $50, however, there is no need to buy it now as the first major expansion is planned in about a year after the full release, so plenty of time.

Planning on going to LAVECON in Kettering next weekend as tickets are only £15 an it's not too far to drive. I'll let you guys know what I think when I've had a play!

Also, (as Toby pointed out to me) they are dropping the £35 "Lifetime Expansion pack" from sale (29th July) and going to a per expansion model.

So I added that to my £20 Early backer Kickstarter :coolio:.

While I was on there Toby forced me to buy one of the £3.50 pin badges. I was expecting to see a £5 p&p pop up, but it came up as £0.00.
Not a bad price at all for a little pin badge.

Prem Beta = Elite Dangerous + Lifetime Expansion Pk + Instant Beta Access = £100 (Last sale day = 15th July) - No longer available
