The original 360 launched at £280. The original Kinect (far simpler technology than the new one) launched at over £100 and is still the best part of that much today, so that would put a reasonable estimate of the price at around £400, excluding 7 years worth of inflation on the main console.

The pricing is completely dependent on how much they plan on subsidising the device though. I imagine they'll look at their market reseach, see the typical gamer is in their 20s or 30s, has spent a good chunk of money on an HDTV, surround sound and loads of gizmos. They can save £500-600 if they need to, but because there's competition with the launch of the PS4 the price will likely be lower, maybe £450 subscription free. I imagine they'll do a subsidised version for less if you sign up to a monthly payment, locking in younger gamers with less disposable cash. Paying for online play seems a bit old hat with other platforms and presumably the PS4 offering it free. If they want a subscription I imagine it'll be DLC/extra content and games available for gamers, and netflix style content for media consumers. Pay £20 a month get a console for £250 and access to all the latest tv shows and films on demand, I imagine that would be quite popular, it's a year of "free" content.

I'm just completely guessing, I just don't see why they would launch a subscription free version around the £300 mark. The device probably costs around £500 to make.
