And so it begins!

Premium isn't included in the digital deluxe edition and could me as much as $50 extra!

The cash cow that EA is.....this doesn't surprise me, it'll follow suit of bf3 eventually being available at a discounted price, surprised it costs so much though.

I'm so buying this, because I want to get early-access on Battlefield 5, as well as early-access to the next Medal of Honour with the highly cerebral story-line.

So pre-order to get China Rising DLC, then buy it AGAIN when you pay $50 (£33) for Premium. What's the odds that Premium will cost £34.99 or more?

You're looking down the barrel of £60 for the (complete) game - remember they could include this stuff in the game, but are holding it back to nickel & dime people. BF2 cost £24.99 and had more content and features at launch.

Currently GreenManGaming is the cheapest pre-order price at £29.99 for BF3 (inc China Rising) so the race is on for finding the cheapest source of Premium. Could dMw bulk-buy at a reduced cost?

Not really, no.

It's a shame, because I suspect that I'd quite enjoy BF4 but the price has put me right off.

I'll probably buy it. But just as Arithon said you'll buy China Rising DLC twice that way. I would rather have a BF4 premium edition option for the pre-order.

TheDvEight

I effectively did the same with back to karkand for bf3 -.-

It does look rather unfortunately like they plan to charge you every 3 months for new DLC.   My favourite bit of marketing bull was the 're-imagined':
Quote from: EABattlefield 4 Second Assault â€" Includes four fan-favorite Battlefield 3â,,¢ maps now re-imagined with the power of Frostbiteâ,,¢ 3. Available first on Xbox One.
Roughly translated this means that they're hoping you don't notice that they're charging you again for content you have already paid for a couple of times in the past and then delivering it to someone else first before it gets to you!

Pretty much this.

I just noticed the store on battlelog and saw you get a discount on premium (for bf3) if you allready own any dlc.
It would be cool if DICE does the same for bf4.

Chaosphere

So £45 for the game, £55 for the digital deluxe edition, and £40 for premium.

£95 for the full whack, with an extra tenner if you want some additional throw away rubbish.

Ohlol.

I know I'll get the game, but I will wait until the local store has some great bargain. When BF3 came, two weeks afterm they sold a limited amount of games for half price. And the shop is 200 meters away from my office....  :-)

That's a lot of money indd. If you search, you'll get it cheaper.
I've pre-ordered bf4 (not deluxe) at a price of 45 Euro (£38) which can be cheaper too (40 euro incl. dlc or 35 euro without the dlc) and you can get premium for 39 euro (£33).

Considering the time I played bf3, I think it's money well spend.
