Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

I came into this world with nothing,
through careful management I\'ve got most of it left.

Ahh how I've missed these ARMA nights .
I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.

I don't miss the shoddy code crashing our server :(

It would be nice to know what the 'You have been sent to jail for killing US troops,' thing was all about :) I'm thinking that I should have sat out my five minute penalty and then get back into the game. By logging out and back in I think the game punished me for trying to skirt the sin bin time. The irony is of course that it was Toby who wiped us all out, I was completely innocent. :g:

Tut and Lib did find the answer but it meant changing a txt file on the server.

If we can fix/sort out the punish/ban thing then that first map we started on could be good. OK it'll probably take hours to complete but that means we can dive in for an evening and just do different areas each time, gradually working out what we're supposed to do and then maybe one evening aiming to do it all in one go?
It may be hard and I think choppers should only be used as transport to get to the outskirts of the next target rather than trying to use them offensively, as they seem to have anti-air covered quite comprehensively. :)
At least it ran OK.

I can't remember the mission name either. If you showed me a list of maps on the server I could probably tell you which one it was - I'll have a quick check when I get home tonight.

I don't know if the TK-ban was a mission-specific setting or something we can configure in our server config. Maybe Oldie (or anyone else who has direct access to the server) can have a look at our config for us, and fix where required.

My only problem with that mission is not knowing where to go, it got a bit aimless at the end - we were just wandering around not sure of which direction to go in. I have no idea how you're supposed to interrogate the enemy commanders without killing them (they're armed, and will shoot you if they see you).

Yes, trying to use the Ghosthawks in a CAS role was a bit of a mistake. It turns out the buggers were armed to the teeth with SAMs. Lesson learned.

Yep a clue about enemy locations would be a help. It's a nice idea to approach in helicopters and land a mile or two short of the target area. But when we don't know where the target area is, we will only find out when we fly over and they shoot us out of the sky! Maybe we should run a recon team in a vehicle with a sniper and some binocular wielding spotter to hunt them down. I'm happy to play a longer game, taking our time and searching out the enemy (this is Arma) , assuming we actually find them :)

That's a neat idea. A recon team of two chopper out to high ground and set up an observation point with binoculars and thermal scopes.

If they spot a target the assault team chopper in, land a mile or two out and attack by foot.
