Was landing on an external platform and spotted my shadow creep into view :norty:

BTW, CTRL-F10 does HDR screenshots now. Not sure how to display them but 170MB per click!

Trust you Albert to have found the source of a good space-distilled single malt.
Why else would they name the station Mcallaster Reserve?
Nice pics!

This one interested me, I at first thought it was a nightclub or a shopping center then realized on closer inspection it's a ship showroom!

Lovely! Check the notes for how he did it.

Dingo is my Fav' ED Streamer, my ED VA profile is based heavily on his, i've watched him so much i know the commands off by heart !

albert

Andy, any clues to his AI setup? Also the text comms box top right of screen, is that just a Twitch thing or is it a voice activated IM group to his friends in game?

I'd like the balls to try so much VA but I find occasionally a command is sent unintentionally and it's normally an epic fail, eg. Boost in a station! But the AI intrigues me.

Yeah I've had a long chat with Dingo over this, it's not actually anything other than a very in depth VA profile, multiple questions and answers are actually easy to do, just time consuming, so he sets up multiple ways to engage Frame Shift, then tells VA to press the relevant key, followed by the option of multiple confirmation text that can be read out by the "AI".... it's just when you combine it all together it sounds really clever, in slowly adding to mine, whenever I tell VA to do something and I then realise in using a command im just assuming should work, I just tab out quick and add it to VA !

As for avoiding accidents, best bet is to avoid single word commands you can do by accident. .. So instead of " boost " just use "boost please" or "engine boost" etc etc

albert

Yes the single words are the main problem. I also am not quite getting how he implements the confirmation comments that professes to be AI response. Where in VA do you programme the response to your commands?

Here's something interesting from the Voice Attack Google group (https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/voiceattack)

Free Alternative TTS Voices for 64bit Windows - Get rid of Ana here!

So if your sick of Microsoft Anna, here is how to get some alternatives:

!!!WARNING!!!

This involves manual edits to your registry. If you mess it up, don't blame me. Do at your own risk.

Step 1 --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Install the Speech Platform v11

a) go here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=27225
b) click "Download"
c) select the "x64_SpeechPlatformRuntime\SpeechPlatformRuntime.msi"
d) run the installer (duh :P)

Step 2: --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Get the alternate voices

a) go here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=27224
b) click "Download"
c) select the voice files you want. They are the ones that have "TTS" in the file name. There are 6 English (all female). I have not listened to the other languages, so I dont know how they sound. GB_Hazel and US_ZiraPro are IMO the better sounding voices.
MSSpeech_TTS_en-CA_Heather
MSSpeech_TTS_en-GB_Hazel
MSSpeech_TTS_en-IN_Heera
MSSpeech_TTS_en-US_Helen
MSSpeech_TTS_en-US_ZiraPro
MSSpeech_TTS_en-AU_Hayley
d) run the installers for each (duh :P)

Step 3: --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Extract the registry tokens

a) Open Regedit
b) Under - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Speech Server\v11.0\Voices - right click the "Tokens" folder and export. Save this file to your desktop as voices1.reg so it will be easy to find later.
c) Under - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Speech Server\v11.0\Voices - right click "Tokens" and again export it, again to the desktop. Call it voices2.reg.

Step 4: --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Edit the voices1/2 files

a) open Voices1.reg in Notepad.
b) press "cntrl + H"
c) enter \Speech Server\v11.0\ into the "Find What" field
d) enter \Speech\ into the "Replace With" field
e) click "Replace All"
f) Save File

g) Repeat a-f with the Voices2.reg file

Step 5: --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Merge the new Registry files into your registry

a) double click to "run" both Voices1.reg and Voices2.reg
b) Click "Yes" when it prompts

You should now have access to the new voices in Voice Attack, and in the Windows TTS options menu.

And this could be a credit and time saver!!!!

Post 39 from https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=24498&page=4 - credit goes to "Del-Dredd"

Just sorted out a Docking Request command.

Ensure you have station targeted first and it works every time.

All commands with a 0.2 sec pause between.

Uses your assigned keys from the Mode Switches and Interface Mode sections of the ED controls.

Target Panel To open
Pause
Next Panel Tab
Pause
UI Panel Select
Pause
UI Panel Down
Pause
UI Panel Select
Pause
Previous Panel
Pause
Target Panel To Close

I still have an Open Comms command and a Close Comms command that I used but you had to use commands for Up, Down, Select etc so thought I would make one to do it all WHEN STATION IS TARGETTED. That way your eyes are not off the Station in close proximity while you are manouvering.
