Quote from: albert;389232Yes the single words are the main problem. I also am not quite getting how he implements the confirmation comments that professes to be AI response. Where in VA do you programme the response to your commands?

Cheers,

Bert

The confirmations are easy, pick a command in VA, double click on it, on the left side you will see various boxes, in order going down they are KEY PRESS, MOUSE, PAUSE, OTHER, RECORDER... choose OTHER, then choose "Say something with text to speech" from the drop down menu, then simply input what you want to be read out in the box, click preview to check it sounds ok, job done ! If you want multiple possible replies, separate them with a semi colon, so for instance your confirmations for "boost" may be "boosting engine; applying afterburner; woooooshhhhh" etc etc... your AI will pick one at random....

Hope that makes sense ?

Superb. Thanks mate. I'll get that onto my VA right away.

No problem, if you need any more help give me a shout and if I can help I will.

Got it all setup last night with a 30 day trial of the Aussie HD female voice. Wife not happy I'm talking to another girl online ðŸ˜,,. Seriously the Ivona software is exquisite. It has the ability to integrate with other apps and read to you if you ask like the phone OSs do but way more effective. I really think £30 is a bargain for one voice. No she Doesn't talk dirty! Except for telling me to shut up when I cuss!

Seems there is going to be a bit more ship design effort at FD, possibly because of the SC competition:

Rather nice I must say.

Not really. The ships designs were very much constrained by the earlier Elite titles. The battle cruisers, passenger ships and federal/imperial capital ships/fighters are ones not in the earlier games, so not made of basic polygon shapes, like the traders and freighters are from the 1984 Elite. Most of this stuff was done and dusted back in 2012 before any details (or possible competition) from Star Citizen was around.

The Imperial ship in the photo (and the associated fighter craft) artwork was released in February of last year, so it's not new. I know this because I've had it as my desktop background for a while!

I rather like the look of the Panther myself

I really liked the original Imperial Courier and Trader from Frontier...

(Sorry about the small image)

The engines used to extend and contract depending on the state of the landing gear... You can see where they came from, but I would love to see something a little closer to the original. Plus it was a BEAST!

This is what a game video should be all about, real game shots and no nonsense ads or commercials :narnar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjKLobNgaSY

The Imperial Clipper reviewed by the same dude who reviewed the Asp in an an earlier video I posted and loved his style.

I'm seeing something really special happening with the ships in Elite. The original Alpha ships were much lower res and purely vector craft. Through the beta the vector type ships have taken on more form and have been streamlined, buffed up in their quality and generally look gorgeous in the hanger (although still not fly around or walk around OB). Even these below have been improved in Beta 3 although these are real screen shots as there seems to be an Elite Space Photographicy Group appearing:

Check this video and be prepared to drool at the ship in the outfitting window!

Port went mental, I came out of FS and accidentally reengaged but never shut if off in time and ended up reentering FS but exiting immediately. This is what I came out to!

Please take note of the system name he was doing that in.

Thankfully no real assets were at risk during the making of that film.

Yep I think it was the training docking mission. I'm not sure there are any stations in the pre-release training combat missions. But hey, it's pretty cool and it's good to see the way he does this plus read the comments after the video about his setup! Free movement analogue stick for thrusters.

Control setup
Right hand: Defender Cobra M5 - pitch/roll/yaw
Left hand: Thrustmaster T-16000M - lateral/vertical thrusters
Feet: Thrustmaster GT Experience pedals - forward/reverse throttle.

Update: Turns out some of the beams I was carefully guiding my ship around have no hit detection anyway. Some areas have invisible barriers whilst it seems some things that appear solid are not at all.

And to +Tommyttk - how do you get your flight movement so smooth? My side thrusters are pretty much on/off and it doesn't look like that's the case here...

+Ian Jefferies That would be the fully analogue vertical and lateral thrusters bound to the left joystick axes.
