I got mine last friday and am loving it :D
It's  got it's flaws and certainly isnt plug'n play just yet. But that's what you let yourself in for with a dev kit.

There are some great demos/experiences out there, and more of the old demos are being updated with the new SDK and new content popping up frequently, plenty out there to keep me entertained.
Had a go at HL2 and TF2 in VR mode, both are great.  MineCraft (MineCrift) works really well too!
A nice piece of kit that the racers and flight sim fans would benefit from. Oh, and of course our Elite Dangerous players

I've got some of the 3rd party injection driver apps, but have not really had a chance to fiddle around with them and the non-VR titles that you could potentially get working in some shape or form. It's early days yet.

Current expectations are: late-2015, about £200-250, 1440p screen, 90Hz refresh rate (so a recommendation to be able to maintain 90fps in any games that you use it with). That's all rumour though, it could change quite drastically with slipping to a later release, or maybe even with a 4k screen (Samsung expect to have a 4k phone out in 2015 IIRC) if the new nVidia cards come out and are actually capable of driving that sort of res in games at an acceptable framerate.

Also, I am so jealous of you no peanuts. I got so ill trying to play HL2 on the Rift. Was really looking forward to it :(

I've been really lucky when it comes to motion sickness and nausea. I can whizz around places like Tuscany, TF2 and HL2 without any issues.
It does affect people in different ways. If you take a look at r/oculus on reddit, there are those that have no motion sickness at all and others that really struggle with any kind of forward motion in VR. There's no quick fix for it. But most people do tend to develop 'VR-legs' after a while. It just seems to be a case of easing yourself into it.
If you feel queasy/nauseaus at anytime, take a break. Don't try and push through it. You're brain/body wont let you. It will only get worse if you try.

I'm currently waiting to hear back about a new job and a start date. It's likely that I'll get sent of to California for training for the first couple of weeks and if that is the case I might have to cancel my appearance at the LAN.  If they are willing to push back the training by a couple of weeks, I'll make sure to bring the DK2 along and people can give it a try for themselves. :)

So, I had my mother down visiting for a week. And she was keen to try the Rift.

We first showed her the included demo-scene and ran her through Welcome to the Oculus and Sightline the Chair and of course Titans of Space.  She was blown away by the technology and really enjoyed the demos/experiences.

Before setting it aside for the night, we put her on the UE4 Coaster and this was the result....linky.  :D TURN DOWN THE VOLUME!
