Re cat6. I thought we were going to have a tester? Test them all no matter home grown or over the counter. Job done.

It only takes a second to test a cable, I don't see why home-made ones should be banned - most people probably won't bother making their own.

I don't think anyone has banned anything have they? Let's just turn up with our cables, test them and plug in. I'll try to remember to bring my cable tester, but if others could also bring some it will be quicker for all.

I did speak with dz saying based on our last experience that building your own cat6 may cause issues due to it being hard to keep the twist tight and it will just be a cat 5 and if he was using premisies cable.

Which I meant no offence by and if I have then I apologise. If we are happy to use home built we will test and use them. I was only basing it on my own experiences and trying to help.

Once again if I have offended anyone then I apologise and happy to run with the above.

I've put half a dozen power cables in with the LAN cabling we purchased for you funny-plugged people. Is that enough?

It's "breed" should be marked on the cable itself.

I would have throught it would be fine as both ends are grounded given their housing so wouldn't overly worry.
